Portugal: The Editory Collection Hotels has opened a new five-star property in Lagos, the Algarve, following a €63.8 million (£54.64 million) investment.

The Editory by The Sea Lagos, owned by Portuguese investor Sonae, is located on the shoreline of Dona Ana Beach in Lagos, southern Portugal. It features 204 rooms including two suites, some providing sea views, all spread across nine floors.

The property includes the all-day dining Coral Restaurant serving Mediterranean cuisine, an Oyster Bar and the CRAB_ar, and a health club and swimming pool.

Additional amenities include a Kids’ Club, a games room for older children, as well as a 120-square-metre meeting space for up to 90 guests.

Elsewhere in Lagos, The Editory Collection features the 177-apartment Aqualuz Lagos which targets family travel.

Sonae Capital introduced The Editory Collection Hotels in 2021, investing €17.5 million into the brand. At the time, the group projected to reach 600 rooms by 2025.

The collection currently comprises 12 hotels across five locations in Portugal: Viana, Lisbon, Porto, Troia and Lagos.

The Editory Boulevard, a boutique hotel in Porto, is part of Preferred Hotels & Resorts‘ Lifestyle collection.
