Choice Hotels has introduced Mews Cloud, a PMS designed to support its international franchise network. This move is part of a broader digital transformation aimed at enhancing operations, improving customer experiences, and ensuring growth for franchisees.

Choice Hotels International continues to lead the way in digital transformation within the hospitality sector. The company recently announced its partnership with Mews, a cloud-based Property Management System (PMS), to support the needs of its international franchisees.

Mews will be integrated with choiceEDGE, Choice Hotels’ cloud-based central reservation system (CRS), to provide real-time updates on pricing and availability across all booking channels.

Enhancing operational efficiency and guest experience

The integration of Mews is expected to bring several key benefits to franchisees:

  • Complete Data Visibility: Access to real-time property data, enabling informed operational decisions.
  • Operational Excellence: Automation of tasks at the reception, room service, and payment processing, improving productivity.
  • Scalable Growth: A flexible infrastructure that adapts to the diverse portfolio of Choice Hotels brands, ensuring consistency across services.
  • Improved Customer Experience: Personalized guest experiences with seamless, frictionless stays, powered by real-time data.

“The hospitality industry is constantly evolving. We must continuously enhance our connectivity and expand our platform options to support the growth of our franchisees. With this agreement with Mews, Choice hotel owners outside the U.S. will have access to another cloud-based platform tailored to meet the specific needs of their region.” – Brian Kirkland, Chief Information Officer at Choice Hotel

Mews’ role in shaping the future of hotel franchising

“We are excited to help Choice Hotels create a new standard for modern, connected hospitality. This agreement marks another significant step for Mews and further strengthens our presence in the hotel group segment. Mews was designed to offer a flexible, scalable, and open ecosystem for hotel groups. Together, we are redefining the future of hotel franchising with innovative solutions and exceptional guest experiences.” –  Matt Welle, CEO of Mews

Lately, Mews is particularly interested in the impact of artificial intelligence on the hospitality sector and how hoteliers can make the most of it. Don’t miss out our interviews with Mak Abdelkafi, Senior Sales Manager at Mews to learn more about this topic :

Choice Hotels: a history of innovation

This partnership with Mews is the latest in a series of technological innovations introduced by Choice Hotels over the years. Some key milestones include:

  • 1995: Launch of the first hotel website with real-time pricing and availability.
  • 2003: Introduction of choiceADVANTAGE, the first cloud-based PMS.
  • 2009: Launch of the first hotel app compatible with iOS.
  • 2014: First to offer instant booking functionality on TripAdvisor.
  • 2016: First in hospitality to offer downloadable gift cards integrated into an app.
  • 2018: Launch of choiceEDGE, the first cloud-based CRS.
  • 2019: Adoption of AWS Cloud for all operations.
  • 2021: Launch of ChoiceMAX, a mobile-first, AI-powered revenue management solution.
