Hotel Kinsley in Kingston, N.Y., has joined Design Hotels, a collection of independent, design-focused hotels under Marriott International, whose guests will be able to tap into the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program.

Located in Kingston’s Stockade District, Hotel Kinsley includes four restored 19th-century buildings at four separate locations: 301 Wall St., 41 Pearl St., 270 Fair St. and 24 John St. The flagship location, formerly the State Bank of New York, features design in collaboration with Studio Robert McKinley. The remaining buildings’ design was led by Vanessa Guilford of TOCCI and Aviva Blaichman, building on Studio Robert McKinley’s concepts.

Operated by Ironwave Hospitality Management, the hotel offers 42 guestrooms with vintage furnishings and curated artwork. Some rooms include fireplaces and soaking tubs. The property also features Restaurant Kinsley, serving seasonal New American cuisine with a cocktail bar.

Expanding its presence is Assembly, a new cultural and event venue on the top floor of a historic former schoolhouse at 236 Wall St. The space retains original features like high ceilings and arched windows, with a built-in stage and modern lighting. Assembly has a 450-person capacity for concerts, exhibitions, and gatherings.

A separate Assembly Conference Room accommodates up to 40 guests for meetings with A/V capabilities.

“From the beginning, our vision for Hotel Kinsley was to create something rooted in Kingston’s history and energy while also offering a modern, design-forward experience,” said Charles Blaichman, who co-owns Hotel Kinsley with Michael Barry.

“Becoming part of the Design Hotels™ community affirms that vision—and with the opening of Assembly, we’re excited to further provide a cultural and creative hub for both locals and visitors.”
