US: The Edgewater Hotel, Seattle’s only over-water hotel, has completed a major property refresh as the city’s waterfront redevelopment gathers pace.
The works include upgrades to landscaping, interior design, restaurant and retail spaces. The relaunch coincides with the reopening of the waterfront area around Pier 67 and Pike Place Market.
The 223-room hotel is owned and operated by Noble House Hotels & Resorts, which said the aim of the project was to modernise the guest experience while maintaining the building’s historic character.
General manager Ian McClendon said: “Every detail of the renovation was thoughtfully chosen to reflect our ongoing commitment to serving both the local community and visitors from around the world.”
Landscaping around the property has been redesigned with aspen, maple and birch trees, alongside native grasses and seasonal greenery.
Inside, guest rooms and public areas have been fitted out with contemporary décor, including leather seating, industrial wood and metal tables, and refreshed fireplaces.
Rooms now feature premium linens from Italian brand Frette and new artwork by photographer Karen Mason Blair, who documented Seattle’s music scene in the 1980s and 1990s.
The hotel’s Six Seven restaurant will launch expanded dinner and brunch menus on 1 May.
New dishes include spicy tuna tacos, lobster corn bisque and Alaskan king crab legs, alongside an extended seafood selection.
Its retail and coffee shop, The Brim, has also been redesigned under the direction of newly appointed general manager Kennedy Morgan.
Morgan said: “My vision for The Brim is to celebrate the soul of the Pacific Northwest and the iconic rockstar history of The Edgewater through a thoughtful coffee experience.”
Further updates are planned for 2025, alongside the hotel’s regular calendar of events, including live music series Sound Waves and seasonal pop-up bars.
