UK: Hempstead House Hotel & Spa in Sittingbourne, Kent has been brought to market by business property advisor Christie & Co, with a guide price of £6 million.
The freehold sale marks the end of more than three decades of ownership by the Holdstock family, who originally purchased the property in 1990.
The independently run four-star hotel features 34 bedrooms and a suite, a restaurant and bar, spa facilities and conference space for up to 200 delegates. It is located along the A2 road which connects London and Dover.
Mandy Holdstock said: “Whilst it is of course sad to be selling a business with which we have been involved for over 35 years, now is the right time to step back. We wish a new buyer every success during their ownership of this well-established and highly profitable hotel.”
Ed Bellfield, regional hotel director at Christie & Co, added: “The sale of Hempstead House Hotel & Spa represents an exceptional opportunity to acquire a highly successful hotel business with significant repeat patronage. The reputation and success of the business is testament to the continued reinvestment and family stewardship over recent decades.”
The hotel received a four-star AA accreditation in October 2023, upgrading its previous position from a three-star property.
