“We are delighted to present the very first Marriott Hotel in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, a destination that captivatingly combines historic charm and modern sophistication,” “Destined to become one of Luxembourg’s most sought-after hotels for both business and leisure travellers, the hotel combines innovation and heritage with outstanding hospitality, serving guests and locals alike. » – Sandra Schulze-Potgieter, Vice President, Premium, Select & Midscale Brand Management, Europe, Middle East & Africa, Marriott International.
Historic and architectural significance
Originally built in 1932 by architect Alfred Lefèvre and designed by Léon Bouvart, the hotel is a listed national monument known for its cultural history, having hosted notable events such as military leaders during World War II and various high-profile social occasions. The recent renovation by Iria Degen Interiors maintains the building’s Art Deco heritage, preserving original elements such as the façade, stained glass windows, vintage lighting, and period furnishings while integrating contemporary artworks by local artists.
