UK: The Feversham Arms Hotel and Verbena Spa, in Helmsley, North Yorkshire, has been bought by Rockcliffe Hall for an undisclosed fee.
The deal was completed after administrators PKF Littlejohn completed the sale of trade and assets of the hotel to a new company, The Feversham Arms (2025) Limited, a company owned by Rockliffe Hall Limited.
Feversham Arms Hotel and Verbena Spa is a 33-bedroom boutique hotel and spa located in the traditional market town of Helmsley, North Yorkshire. It was placed in administration in March of this year. Rockliffe Hall is a five-star hotel in County Durham. It also owns The Pheasant Hotel, a quintessentially English country inn in Harome, North Yorkshire.
The Feversham Arms will continue to operate in its current format and all employees will be transferred under Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) regulations, with all contracted terms and conditions remaining the same.
The new owners thanked the administrators, and in particular Oliver Collinge and Liz Sapsted, for their co-operation in ensuring a smooth transition of ownership. The legal work for the purchasers was undertaken by a team from Womble Bond Dickinson’s Newcastle office, led by Simon Watts.
The joint administrators were represented in the sale process by Robert Smithson of the UK hotels agency team at Colliers and legal advisers Weightmans, led by Oliver Nelson, and supported by Shevy Narendra, Daniel Baker and Mark Crabtree.
