
Chedi Hospitality has announced the appointment of Stephan Schupbach as its new president and group chief executive Stephan Schupbach, signalling the start of the next stage of its international growth strategy.
Schupbach, who has more than three decades of experience in the luxury hotel sector, has held senior roles across groups active in Europe, the USA, the Middle East and Asia. He joined Chedi Hospitality in an executive role that has included work on the group’s global strategy and its relations with owners, partners and development stakeholders.
In his expanded position, Schupbach will lead long-term strategy, oversee brand development and manage performance across the company’s hotel, resort and branded residence portfolio. The group said this will include work on commercial alignment and what it terms design-led experiences across its properties.
Among the initiatives Schupbach will oversee is the launch of a boutique brand intended to bring Chedi Hospitality’s design-focused approach to new market segments. He will also lead a new food and drink business vertical aimed at creating standalone culinary concepts for key markets and lifestyle-driven sectors.
The group said the plans support a wider ambition to expand its footprint while maintaining is focus on authenticity, craftsmanship and cultural storytelling.
