Balfour Miami Beach has joined Wyndham’s Registry Collection Hotels, marking a new phase for the historic South of Fifth property. The 82-room hotel, located in Miami Beach’s Art Deco District, becomes part of a portfolio of independent hotels positioned around design, location and individual identity.

Originally designed in 1940 by architect Anton Skislewicz, Balfour Miami Beach has long been part of the South Beach landscape. The property consists of two restored buildings connected by a courtyard. Its original architectural elements, including pastel façades and terrazzo details, remain central to the hotel’s identity. The hotel is located within walking distance of the beach and the surrounding neighborhood streets.

“In the heart of Miami Beach, Balfour combines a quietly bold design with a relaxed, approachable style of luxury that feels effortlessly inviting. Just steps from the beach, it’s a destination defined by its prime location, the character of its iconic neighborhood, and the warm, welcoming rhythm of its hospitality—creating a distinctive and memorable stay that fits perfectly within Registry Collection Hotels’ portfolio of iconic properties,” said Leo Danese, VP of Lifestyle Brands, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.

The hotel offers guest rooms and suites that reflect its mid-century origins while incorporating updated amenities. Interior features include herringbone floors, marble walk-in rain showers and Italian linens. Guest accommodations also include in-room coffee service and bath amenities. Public spaces include a pool terrace and areas designed for informal gathering.

“For generations, Balfour has been a place our guests return to, not just for its Art Deco charm or the warmth of South of Fifth, but for the welcoming atmosphere that makes everyone feel at home. Now, with Registry Collection Hotels by our side in this next chapter, we can share that feeling with even more travelers while staying true to the spirit and unique style that make this hotel special,” said Andrew Stegen, executive VP of operations, FullG CRE Investments.

On-site offerings include Laurel, the hotel’s restaurant, and SoFi Coffee, an in-house café. Guests have access to beach chairs located steps from the Atlantic Ocean. Additional amenities include bicycles for neighborhood use, scheduled wellness activities and accommodations for pets.

Recent additions to the Registry collection include The Mining Exchange in Colorado Springs and Ajul Luxury Hotel & Spa Resort in Halkidiki, Greece. Wyndham has also announced plans to expand the Registry Collection Hotels portfolio into India beginning in 2026.
