IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Club Chaulani Ltd. to develop Holiday Inn Dhangadhi, a 115-key hotel in Dhangadhi, Nepal. Announced on Dec. 23, 2025, the signing marks IHG’s first Holiday Inn property in Nepal’s Sudurpashchim Province and reflects the company’s stated focus on expanding in emerging South Asian markets. The hotel is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2028.
The agreement represents IHG’s entry into the Sudurpashchim Province and adds to its regional development activity. Holiday Inn Dhangadhi will be developed as part of a mixed-use project in the city center and will be located approximately 8.5 kilometers from Dhangadhi Airport. Its location near the India–Nepal border positions the hotel to serve a mix of business travelers, government officials and transit guests, as well as leisure travelers visiting regional destinations including Shuklaphanta National Park, Ghodaghodi Lake and Shivpuri Temple.
The hotel is planned to include 115 guest rooms along with four food and beverage outlets. These will consist of an all-day dining restaurant, a pool bar and a specialty restaurant. The property will also feature meeting and event facilities, including flexible function space and a ballroom. Additional amenities are expected to include a fitness center and a swimming pool.
“Dhangadhi represents an emerging hospitality market with strong fundamentals driven by improving infrastructure, cross-border trade, and rising domestic travel. The signing of Holiday Inn Dhangadhi reflects our confidence in the city’s growth potential. The hotel will cater precisely to this growth, serving both the rising domestic travel segment and regional business traffic, ensuring strong returns for our partners at Club Chaulani,” said Sudeep Jain, managing director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts.
Club Chaulani Ltd. is partnering with IHG to introduce the Holiday Inn brand to the city as Dhangadhi continues to develop as a commercial and tourism gateway in western Nepal. The project is intended to address demand for branded accommodation in the area and support both business and tourism-related travel.
“We are pleased to partner with IHG Hotels & Resorts to introduce the Holiday Inn brand to Dhangadhi. As the city continues to grow as a commercial and tourism gateway in western Nepal, there is a clear opportunity for high-quality branded hospitality. We look forward to delivering a welcoming and reliable stay experience backed by IHG’s global expertise and strong brand standards,” said Dr. Rajendra K.C, Chairman Club Chaulani Ltd.
According to the announcement, the signing of Holiday Inn Dhangadhi is positioned as part of IHG’s broader expansion strategy in South Asia. The company stated that the hotel is expected to contribute to the development of the region’s branded hospitality supply while supporting growing business and tourism demand in and around Dhangadhi.
