Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced plans to add two notable hotels to its European portfolio: Hôtel Lutetia in Paris and the Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam. These properties will be managed by Mandarin Oriental starting in early 2025, subject to a consultation process.

This move is part of the Group’s strategy to expand its presence in Europe’s major cities, enhancing its portfolio and offering guest experiences in key locations.

Mandarin Oriental Lutetia, Paris

Hôtel Lutetia, a historic hotel located on the Left Bank of Paris, will be rebranded as Mandarin Oriental Lutetia, Paris. Originally opened in 1910, the hotel is known for its Art Nouveau and Art Deco architecture and has a rich history, having hosted various cultural and political figures over the years. Following an extensive restoration that concluded in 2018, the hotel boasts 184 rooms, including 47 suites, as well as features like the Akasha Holistic Wellbeing Centre and Brasserie Lutetia. Moreover, the hotel offers a blend of luxury and tradition, aligned with Mandarin Oriental’s brand standards.

This new addition will complement Mandarin Oriental’s existing property in Paris, Mandarin Oriental, Paris, located on the Right Bank. Together, these two hotels will offer a diverse and comprehensive experience of Paris, combining heritage with contemporary luxury.

“Mandarin Oriental is focused on being a global leader in luxury hospitality. These new long term management agreements with two of Europe’s great heritage hotels are core to our strategy of expanding and strengthening our brand’s presence in world destinations that appeal to our fans.” – Laurent Kleitman, Group Chief Executive of Mandarin Oriental

Mandarin Oriental Conservatorium, Amsterdam

The Conservatorium Hotel, located in Amsterdam’s Museum Quarter, will be rebranded as Mandarin Oriental Conservatorium, Amsterdam in January 2026, after completing a renovation. The hotel, originally a bank and music conservatory, was transformed by architect Piero Lissoni into a modern luxury property. It offers 129 rooms and suites that combine the building’s historical features with design elements. The hotel’s dining options include the Taiko Restaurant, which specializes in Asian-inspired dishes, and the award-winning Akasha Holistic Wellbeing Centre. Its central location near the city’s cultural landmarks makes it a suitable destination for visitors seeking both luxury and cultural immersion.

“Welcoming the legendary Hôtel Lutetia to our portfolio, 115 years after its opening, further strengthens Mandarin Oriental’s foothold in this key luxury market, where we are successfully operating Mandarin Oriental, Paris on Rue Saint Honoré since 2011. Having soon, two Palace hotels in Paris, one on the left and one on the right bank, we are proudly reaffirming our relentless commitment to the French hospitality market and creating a compelling choice for our guests. Indeed, we have significant experience of operating two hotels in key city centre destinations – including Hong Kong, London, Beijing and soon, Dubai – where we have successfully showcased two distinct facets of each destination. Likewise, adding the Conservatorium Hotel to our portfolio will bring a new dimension to our presence across Europe’s leading capitals, where we are already well versed in delivering world-class service in cities that value luxury and heritage.” – Laurent Kleitman, Group Chief Executive of Mandarin Oriental

The Hotels are part of the Locka Holding BV. Founder, Alfred Akirov, commented, “Since we opened both Hotels, we have seen the growth in results and guest satisfaction, making both Hotels desired leading destinations in Europe. I am thankful to the Hotels’ teams for their great work together. We are delighted to be collaborating with Mandarin Oriental to rebrand our heritage landmarks and bring a new energy to the experiences that both have to offer. This partnership marks a significant chapter in the illustrious history of both hotels and we are confident that Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group’s legendary hospitality expertise will further elevate these iconic properties and bring new fans to enjoy the delights of each destination and each hotel’s unique spirit.”

Strengthening Mandarin Oriental’s Presence in Europe

The addition of these two properties is part of Mandarin Oriental’s ongoing strategy to expand its footprint in key European cities. Both Hôtel Lutetia and Conservatorium Hotel are renowned for their blend of historical significance and architectural elegance, and Mandarin Oriental is committed to preserving their distinct character while offering the brand’s luxury services.
