NIJŪ, the acclaimed Japanese restaurant in London’s Mayfair, is celebrating its first anniversary on Saturday, 26th April, with a one-night only dining experience curated by Executive Chef Chris Golding and Culinary Director and third-generation sushi master, Chef Endo Kazutoshi.
Since its opening, NIJŪ has quickly established itself as one of London’s premier Japanese dining destinations. Rooted in seasonality and craftsmanship, over the past year, NIJŪ has offered Londoners a modern interpretation of Japanese cuisine, showcasing innovative dishes that highlight exceptional ingredients and meticulous technique.
Inspired by the principle of Omotenashi, NIJŪ pays tribute to this Japanese concept of hospitality and mindfulness; an ethos manifested in every detail from the dishes to its décor. Seamlessly blending tradition with creativity, NIJŪ has brought the art of Japanese home-cooked dining, or Katei Ryōri, to Mayfair.
The restaurant features the finest seasonal ingredients and a premium selection of Wagyu and Kobe beef, all expertly cooked on a custom-made Konro grill using a unique charcoal mix of binchotan, briquette, and cherry wood.
The Menu
This exclusive six-course menu will feature a range of specialty dishes and sushi specials, showcasing NIJŪ’s signature Katei Ryōri style dishes, Konro grill and finest grade sushi, nigiri and sashimi.
To start, guests will enjoy steamed Japanese edamame with yuzu salt and spring vegetable crudités with tofu dressing before the sushi courses, comprising of a chef’s selection of NIJŪ style sashimi and a curated selection of sushi by Endo Kazutoshi, who will be on-site to personally guide the experience.
Additional courses will include the hay-smoked Spanish tuna with tomato ponzu and shiso oil and the A4 Japanese Wagyu sirloin served with mushroom and wild garlic gohan and miso butter. To finish, diners will delight in the famed matcha and white chocolate fondant with strawberry, vanilla tuille and milk ice-cream.
The Culinary Team
NIJŪ is helmed by a trio of culinary experts, with Executive Chef Chris Golding and Head Sushi Chef David Bury driving the daily operations under the direction of Chef Endo Kazutoshi.
Known for his meticulous attention to detail and creative flair, Chris Golding’s philosophy of using seasonal ingredients and sustainable practices ensures that every dish reflects purity of flavour and artistic presentation.
Presenting NIJŪ’s selection of Sushi, Nigiri and Sashimi from the bespoke sushi bar is Head Sushi Chef David Bury, longtime protege of Chef Endo Kazutoshi, ensuring the finest quality of fish is served alongside decadent toppings such as rich caviar, citrus zests and black truffle.

The menu is priced at £110 per head, and an additional £70 for wine pairings.
