McKeever Hotels has named Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stroke (NICHS) as its charity partner for the year ahead, with fundraising activities to run across its six properties.

The family-owned group will collect donations and host events at the Dunadry Hotel and Gardens, Dunsilly Hotel, Corr’s Corner Hotel, Adair Arms, The Lodge Hotel and the newly acquired Armagh City Hotel.

Staff and guests are being encouraged to take part in the campaign, which began on 1 October.

Funds will go towards NICHS’s care services, prevention programmes and research. The partnership was chosen following a company-wide consultation and follows McKeever Hotels’ fundraising drive for NI Children’s Hospice in 2024, which raised more than £20,000.

Initiatives such as the “Green Rooms” scheme, which allows guests to opt out of housekeeping in return for a £5 donation, and a tea and coffee drive that donates 5p per cup sold, will continue throughout 2025 alongside new activities.

The group has already installed defibrillators across all its hotels and trained staff in first aid. McKeever said the new partnership was a “natural extension” of its efforts.

Eddie McKeever, managing director of McKeever Hotels, said: “Supporting the communities where we live and work has always been at the heart of our family business. Partnering with Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stroke gives us the opportunity to make a real difference to people living with these conditions.”

Lindsay Lutton, corporate fundraiser at NICHS, added: “At least 400,000 people in Northern Ireland are living with a chest, heart or stroke condition and we are committed to supporting them. Almost 90% of our income comes from public donations so we rely heavily on the generosity of local businesses such as McKeever Hotels’.”
