Carnegie Acoustic Solutions

Carnegie Acoustic Solutions, a division of Carnegie that manufactures iconic, sustainable acoustic design elements, announces its Xorel ArtformⓇ Flute 3D Panel, a part of the Mezzo Collection, a new suite of acoustic solutions designed to bring harmony to interior environments. Inspired by musical dynamics, the Mezzo Collection strikes a balance between sound control and aesthetic refinement, enabling designers to create spaces that are both functional and beautifully composed.

Flute 3D adds a bold rhythm and powerful sound absorption to walls with its undulating 3D form. Offered in the newly available 1” and 2” rPET-Core, Flute 3D delivers high NRCs of 0.70 and 0.80. Made with at least 60% post-consumer recycled plastic, rPET-Core combines sustainability with high-performance sound absorption. Measuring 30″ x 72″, Flute 3D is ideal for spaces that need standout acoustics and a sophisticated textural layer. Wrapped in either Carnegie’s proprietary XorelⓇ fabric or Biobased Xorel fabric, which is Cradle to Cradle™ Certified and derived from rapidly renewable sugarcane, Xorel stretches across the ribs of Flute 3D, creating a harmonic dance of light and shadow that showcases the beauty and depth of the material. Designed to “bring the sweetest melody” to interiors, each panel is crafted with a high-performance acoustic backer and sculpted flutes engineered for both visual interest and optimal sound control. Carnegie offers over 350 colors, textures, and patterns of Xorel to choose from.

For the Mezzo Collection, we pulled inspiration from a wide variety of modern movements and iconic design styles. Flute 3D takes inspiration from the horizontality and repetitive lines of Streamline Moderne, combines them with the soft curves of Atomic Modern, and reimagines them into a stretched Xorel panel that captures light and shadow to create long, elegant lines. Michael DiTullo, Head of Product Innovation for Carnegie Acoustic Solutions

True to its name, Mezzo—Italian for “middle” or “moderate”—embodies the perfect equilibrium of sound absorption and design sophistication. This collection seamlessly integrates into various commercial settings, providing solutions that reduce reverberation and enhance auditory comfort without compromising on style or sustainability. Flute 3D is crafted from Xorel textiles, one of the safest and most environmentally responsible materials available. Cradle to Cradle™ Certified, rigorously lab-tested, and trusted for over 35 years, Xorel delivers acoustic transparency that allows sound to travel through to high-performance substrates with ease.

As a B Corp that champions PVC-free and recycled materials, Carnegie strives to lead the acoustics industry with an authentic commitment to sustainability. From biobased textiles made from sugarcane to PET products made with post-consumer recycled plastics, Carnegie Acoustic Solutions delivers beautiful and innovative acoustic solutions with sustainability at its core. With Flute 3D, Carnegie Acoustic Solutions continues to set the standard for high-performance, sustainable design solutions that support the well-being of occupants while enhancing the architectural beauty of a space.
