
Hilton London Metropole has appointed Kelly Shrives-Wrist as its new general manager, placing a long-serving Hilton executive in charge of the group’s largest hotel outside the United States.
Shrives-Wrist brings 27 years of hospitality experience to the role, including 20 years with Hilton. She most recently served as general manager of the Hilton Woking, which opened in October 2024, and will now lead a workforce of more than 300 staff at the central London hotel.
She previously spent eight years at Hilton London Metropole as commercial director between 2015 and 2023, overseeing revenue and business development during a period of significant change for the property.
Shrives-Wrist said: “It is an incredible privilege to return to Hilton London Metropole as general manager. After nine years of leading the hotel’s commercial efforts, I am proud to be back with a team that runs such a dynamic hotel with skill, professionalism, and care.
“Together, we will keep raising the bar for our guests as we guide the hotel through renovation projects and use technology to strengthen both our operations and the way we connect with guests.”
The appointment comes after a multimillion-pound refurbishment that saw all 1,100 guestrooms and suites redesigned, alongside the relaunch of the hotel’s restaurants and bars. New food and drink concepts include Tyburn Kitchen, a neighbourhood-style restaurant, and Tyburn Market, a casual dining space inspired by London street food.
Further investment is under way in the hotel’s West Wing, where 363 bedrooms are being refurbished with a focus on groups and family travellers, while continuing to cater to corporate and leisure guests.
Paul Bray, divisional managing director at Klarent Hospitality, which manages the hotel, said: “Under Kelly’s leadership, Hilton London Metropole will continue to combine operational and commercial excellence with a strong focus on its people and sustainability.”
The hotel is owned by Henderson Park and forms part of Hilton’s wider Travel with Purpose strategy, which includes commitments on workforce inclusion, community engagement and environmental management.
