As Puglia’s Mediterranean sun softens into winter, the region takes on a new kind of glow, festive lights brighten its whitewashed towns; kitchens come alive with traditional recipes and families return home for the holidays.

At Borgo Egnazia, the festive season is thoughtfully curated. The hotel transforms in winter: the central square glows with golden light, every room becomes a cosy festive setting, and every corner hints at something special. The focus is simple – bringing people together.

CHRISTMAS AT BORGO EGNAZIA

On Christmas Eve, guests can take part in the making of panettone. From kneading the dough to baking, every step transforms simple ingredients into a soft, fragrant dessert cherished across generations. Once baked, the panettone can be decorated, adding a personal touch perfect for sharing during the holidays.

In the evening, families gather around long, lavishly set tables that feel like they have fallen straight out of a storybook. At La Frasca, guests experience a similarly special dinner: festive courses arrive one after another, accompanied by inviting aromas and the warm glow of lights. After dinner, music fills the air, and the true spirit of celebration comes alive.

On Christmas Day, lunch becomes a tribute to tradition, reimagined with creativity. Each dish surprises and delights, reflecting the beauty of the season with elegance, flavour, and wonder – much like the gifts under the tree.

During the festive period, Borgo Egnazia runs a full programme for children, including hands-on workshops in papier-mâché, cooking, theatre, painting and seasonal crafts.

La Cantina is not only the hotel’s wine hideaway but also a space that reflects Puglia’s culinary heritage. Over the holidays, it hosts intimate tastings and private dinners, showcasing regional wines and the stories behind them.

BORGO EGNAZIA’S CHRISTMAS MARKETS

A now-beloved tradition, the Christmas Markets at Borgo Egnazia capture the festive spirit of the region. At the heart of Borgo Egnazia, the market stalls bustle with life. Artisans showcase their handmade creations – ceramics, textiles, and crafts inspired by the traditions of Puglia while the air is filled with the tempting aromas of spices, seasonal sweets, and family recipes. Every stall invites you to explore, taste, and experience the rich local heritage.

Four atmospheric evenings, each with a unique theme:

  • 27 December – The Colours of Wine
  • 28 December – A Celebration of Music
  • 3 January – Mangiafuoco and the Puppets
  • 4 January – The Befana Circus

NEW YEAR’S EVE 2025 – IL CIRCO

This year, Borgo Egnazia welcomes 2026 with Il Circo – a tribute to the creativity, imagination and craftsmanship deeply rooted in Apulian culture. The circus has always been a universal language, capable of bringing communities together through wonder and anticipation. At Borgo Egnazia, it becomes the guiding theme for the most magical night of the year.

Guests are invited into two distinct but equally captivating worlds:

  • A refined experience, shaped by the theatrical charm of a modern ‘master of ceremonies’ who reinterprets the circus with elegant contemporary flair.
  • A playful and colourful family universe, alive with the enchantment of childhood.

Expect surprising performances, whimsical characters, spectacular lighting and dreamlike atmospheres – a night where every detail becomes part of the show.

THE PERFECT PLACE TO STAY

Borgo Egnazia provides a genuine and immersive experience, where tradition, culture, and hospitality come together to create a truly special festive holiday. Whether guests are excited to enjoy the markets, participate in workshops, or simply soak up the magical atmosphere, it’s a place where the holiday spirit feels timeless.

For those wanting to make the most of the holiday season, Borgo Egnazia offers a range of rooms, starting from €480 per night. For more information, please visit www.borgoegnazia.com.
