The campaign, which has been running for the past 13 years, continues to help millions of children around the world access essential nutrition.

“We are incredibly proud to see the food and hospitality industry come together once again in the fight against hunger,” says Action Against Hunger UK fundraising and communications director Will Macleod.

“This campaign is a powerful reminder that by simply enjoying a meal, restaurant-goers can help save lives. The support we receive from our restaurant partners and the public allows us to deliver critical interventions in communities where children are suffering from malnutrition. Every £1 donated truly makes a difference.”

Now in its 13th year, Love Food Give Food will see 122 restaurants across the UK participate, with venues in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Brighton, and Glasgow.

Over the years, the campaign has raised over £4.1 million to support Action Against Hunger’s global efforts.

The list of operators involved this year includes The Pig Hotels, Fazenda, Mr Bao, The Tamil Prince, The Tamil Crown, Tomos Parry’s Brat and Mountain, as well as Angela Hartnett’s Murano and Café Murano.

As part of the campaign, restaurants encourage diners to voluntarily add £1 to their bill.

The contribution can provide a mother with a day’s worth of ready-to-use therapeutic food, a highly-effective peanut-based paste that treats severe malnutrition in children under five.

Regular treatment can bring a child from a medical crisis to recovery in as little as 45 days.

Surging levels of hunger due to conflict, climate change, and inequality have made this year’s campaign more vital than ever, Action Against Hunger says.

In 2023, approximately 733 million people were impacted by hunger, which equates to one in every eleven people worldwide.

If these trends continue, an estimated 582 million people will face chronic undernourishment by the end of this decade.

Action Against Hunger UK continues to welcome more restaurants to join the Love Food Give Food campaign.
