Pacifica Hotels announced the appointment of experienced hospitality veteran, Scott Roby, as President to oversee all portfolio assets and operations moving forward.
A Southern California native, Roby was most recently the founder and principal at Storyteller Hospitality where his mission was to provide consulting and advisory services to hospitality companies to clearly frame and execute the next chapter of their story. Prior to that, Roby was a co-founder and SVP of Operations for Evolution Hospitality, a lifestyle hotel operator. Roby was critical in the spin-off of the management platform in 2011 from the parent company, Tarsadia Hotels. Prior to his time in operations, he led the revenue management effort in driving topline performance for the portfolio.
Additionally, Roby worked for KSL Resorts overseeing revenue management, pricing and commercial strategy at La Costa Resort and Spa. He started his career with two Hilton resorts in San Diego after graduating from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration.

In his free time, Roby volunteers with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, raising funds for cancer research and patient outreach. He has lectured on hospitality topics at major universities in Southern California, served on and led advisory boards in hotel commercial strategy and currently serves on the board of private equity owned Design Environments. He enjoys spending time with his five kids, watching live music, enjoying a sunset picnic at Salt Creek, hiking, skiing, travelling, and cheering on his favorite sports teams.
