Historical legacy: Reopening of Hotel La Voile d’Or in Saint Jean Cap Ferrat planned for 2029

An extensive reopening of Hotel La Voile d’Or in Saint Jean Cap Ferrat is scheduled for 2029 with an offering that will meet the highest standards of international luxury hospitality. As part of the purchase, Grand Metropolitan Hotels owns not only the brand but also the long-term management contract and the development management function for this iconic landmark property.

Voile d’Or brand traces its origins back to the legendary Hotel La Voile d’Or in Saint Jean Cap Ferrat in the French Riviera, which first opened its doors in 1925. Situated in a prime location on the Côte d’Azur, right by the shore with a private beach, the property was for decades the go-to destination for the rich, the famous, and internationally acclaimed personalities. One of its most famous regular guests was Sir Winston Churchill, whose statue stands at the hotel’s entrance – a tribute to his close connection to the property, where he was always welcomed with his beloved champagne and cigars.

Strengthening the leadership team of the Voile d’Or luxury hotel collection with industry experts

Grand Metropolitan Hotels is proud to announce Jacques Oudinot as Chief Executive Officer of Voile d’Or Hotels and Resorts. Additionally, Edouard Deschepper has been appointed as Board Director. With his expertise in corporate finance, he is expected to play a key role in further developing the brand.

Grand Metropolitan Hotels is one of the leading hotel operators, specializing in providing tailor-made solutions in branding, hotel management, franchise, and affiliation services, all carefully designed to meet the individual needs of hotel owners and investors. The purchase price remains undisclosed.
