Orlando, London, Singapore, and Cancun lead regional rankings as event volume hits $16.5 billion

Cvent has released its 2024 rankings of top global meetings destinations and hotels based on sourcing activity tied to a record $16.5 billion in event volume. This year’s rankings span North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and for the first time, Latin America and the Caribbean. The evaluation includes new metrics such as year-over-year RFP growth and response time performance.

Key takeaways

North America:

  • Top Destination: Orlando retains the #1 spot, followed by Las Vegas (#2) and Chicago (#3).
  • Notable Moves: Washington D.C. jumps to #8 from #18 amid election-year buzz.
  • Top Hotel: Renaissance Nashville Hotel, with Nashville boasting 4 of the top 10 hotels.

Europe:

  • Top Destination: London holds the #1 title for the third consecutive year.
  • Consistent Leaders: Barcelona (#2) and Madrid (#3) remain steady.
  • New Entrants: Prague (#9) and Dublin (#10) join the top 10, replacing Frankfurt and Munich.
  • Top Hotel: Imperial Riding School, Vienna (Autograph Collection by Marriott).

Asia-Pacific:

  • Top Destination: Singapore, followed by Bangkok and Sydney.
  • Top Hotel: Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park.

Middle East:

  • Top Destination: Dubai leads, followed by Istanbul and Abu Dhabi.

Latin America & the Caribbean (new category):

  • Top Destination: Cancun/Riviera Maya.
  • Other Hotspots: Cabo San Lucas (#3), Playa Del Carmen (#4), Punta Mita (#10).
  • Top Hotel: JW Marriott Hotel Mexico City Polanco.
