With this integration, guests at participating hotels can bypass traditional check-in procedures and access their rooms directly via mobile devices. For hotel operators, the system offers time savings, reduced dependency on physical keycards, and fewer manual front desk tasks, contributing to streamlined operations.

“Every step of the guest journey should be effortless,” “With Salto smart access for hospitality compatibility, more properties can reduce the friction around arrival and check-in. Digital Key is a win-win because it’s as much about operational efficiency as it is about improving guest satisfaction.” – Matt Welle, CEO of Mews.

The integration is already in use at YUST, a hybrid hospitality brand in Belgium. At its Antwerp property, 12% of arrivals used the Digital Key within the first month of launch. Of guests who received mobile keys, 64% used them for room access, indicating early adoption and operational relevance.

“We’re only tech-focused when we can use tech to improve the guest experience,” “Digital Key makes it easy for guests to go straight to their room, while creating real time savings for our team – who can then focus on building real human connections.” – Dirk Van Gompel, CTO of YUST.

Additional benefits include improved security by reducing the risk of lost keys, lower plastic usage, and simplified guest movement through automated check-in and check-out features. The integration is part of a wider trend toward digitalising hotel operations while maintaining flexibility and control for both operators and guests.

“At Salto, we believe access to technology should be so convenient that guests actually enjoying using it,” “Our integration with Mews reinforces our commitment to delivering a seamless, secure, and modern digital experience through strong technology alliances.”  – Nora Urquiza, Hospitality Solutions Business Lead at Salto Systems.

This move further supports Mews’ strategy to automate the end-to-end guest experience through its cloud-based platform, while aligning with Salto’s focus on delivering adaptable and secure digital access solutions for hospitality environments.
