Ardencote, a luxury four-star hotel and spa in Warwickshire, has been sold to Barons Eden for an undisclosed price.

The Victorian manor house features 110 en-suite bedrooms, extensive wedding and conference space, three restaurants and bars, an award-winning spa and leisure club facilities including an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, three tennis courts, two squash courts, nine treatment rooms and a gym.

Originally built in 1862, Ardencote is set within 83 acres of landscaped gardens and an 18-hole golf course. It is located in the centre of Warwickshire, with access to the M40 and M5 motorways and within 25 minutes of Birmingham International Airport.

Barons Eden is a luxury hotel and spa group that owns and operates Hoar Cross Hall and Eden Hall.

The company, established in 1989, is a collection of award-winning spa and hotel destinations, with both Hoar Cross Hall and Eden Hall recognized as two of the largest spa resorts in Europe.

Henry Jackson, a partner at Knight Frank, who handled the sale, said: “It has been a pleasure to facilitate the sale of this exquisite property on behalf of the Huckerby family who have owned and managed the asset for many years. It is an exceptional hotel which offers its buyer a unique opportunity to enhance its offering as one of the most popular luxury hotels in Warwickshire.”

Dale Huckerby, the owner of Ardencote, said: “We have enjoyed the many years we have spent building Ardencote into a high quality, luxury hotel and thank everyone who has stayed or visited for their continued support. We trust that Ardencote is in safe hands with Barons Eden and would like to thank Knight Frank for brokering this sale.”

Edward Law, CEO, Barons Eden, added: “We are delighted to have acquired Ardencote Manor, which represents our first acquisition since Alchemy’s investment into Barons Eden. Ardencote Manor is a wonderful hotel and we intend to further develop the facilities and features in the hotel and spa via a significant investment into the property to deliver a high quality Barons Eden style spa resort offering.”
