BLS UK Hotels Ltd has announced the acquisition of the long-established Trefeddian Hotel in Aberdyfi for a reported £6.55m, ending more than 100 years of family ownership.
The Cave-Browne-Cave family has run the hotel for generations, building a reputation as a fixture of the Welsh seaside tourism industry and attracting guests from across the UK.
Birmingham-based law firm Wilkes advised the family on the transaction, with specialist tax input from Cooper Parry and corporate finance advice from Skye Corporate Finance. BLS was advised by Gateleys.
Gareth O’Hara, senior partner at Wilkes, said: “The hotel has been a much-loved family business for over 100 years and we were pleased to support them through such an important milestone.”
Caroline Cave-Browne-Cave, former owner of the Trefeddian, added: “They guided us through the sale of our family hospitality business with amazing support. I can’t recommend them enough to any business or individual needing an outstanding professional team to guide them through any legal process.”
The sale comes against a backdrop of renewed confidence in the hospitality sector. Industry reports point to an increase in single-asset hotel transactions across the UK, underlining robust demand from both domestic and overseas investors.
