Australia: Lifestyle hospitality group Ennismore has rebranded Melbourne Place as Hyde Melbourne Place, marking the debut of its Hyde brand in the country.
The hotel officially reopened on 2 May 2025 following a transformation of the existing property, designed by the local architecture firm Kennedy Nolan.
Located on Russell Street in the centre of the city, Hyde Melbourne Place features 191 rooms and suites, the rooftop restaurant and bar Mid Air, restaurant Marmelo inspired by coastal Portugal and Spain, cocktail bar Mr Mills, as well as an event space.
General manager Jodi Brown will lead the hotel. With more than 14 years of hospitality experience across Australia, Brown has overseen the property’s pre-opening and launch.
Brown said: “Melbourne’s creative spirit, bold energy, and cultural richness make it the perfect setting for Hyde’s Australian debut. With its bohemian aesthetic, playful spirit, and deep roots in music and design, Hyde Melbourne Place will offer guests more than just a stay, it will be a full sensory experience.
“We can’t wait to reveal what’s coming, including vibrant spaces, live music moments, and design that truly speaks to the heart of Melbourne’s artistic community,” she added.
The debut of Hyde in Australia forms part of Ennismore’s expansion in the country, which includes three other planned openings this year: Hyde Perth, Mondrian Gold Coast, and 25hours Hotel Sydney The Olympia.
