
Whether they were professionals or simply fans of aeronautics, visitors were in force at this year’s show, held from 16 to 22 June. A total of 141,000 unique professional visitors came to the show throughout the week, 38% of them international, as well as 164,000 visitors from the general public.
All in all, the Paris Air Show welcomed more than 305,000 visitors, higher than the 2023 edition but below the pre-Covid level. All in all, a positive result that testifies to the appeal of this biennial show, particularly with the professional public, who were much more present than at the last edition.
Attendance not taking off

While attendance at the event was higher than at the last edition, this did not apply to the hotel sector. Indeed, hoteliers in Seine Saint-Denis saw their occupancy rate fall by -1.9 points over the week of the show compared with 2023. Only a few days saw the opposite trend, including the weekend of 21-22.
It’s no coincidence that hotel occupancy is up again on these days, as the show is only open to the public at weekends. And since there were more general public visitors than trade visitors, they boosted the occupancy rate of the destination’s hotels.
While this year’s show attracted 14,000 more trade visitors than in 2023, it would appear that this clientele made greater use of alternative forms of accommodation, such as furnished tourist accommodation and Airbnb-type rentals.
This phenomenon has been observed at a number of events, and confirms a fundamental trend: seasonal rentals are increasingly taking market share from traditional hotels.
