WatchHouse celebrates the opening of its new House at Battersea Power Station. Situated on Electric Boulevard as visitors approach the iconic Grade-II* listed Power Station, the new outpost expands on WatchHouse’s unique Modern Coffee experience with its most extensive Espresso Bar to date.

Spanning 240sqm with 81 covers, the new House will welcome visitors to London’s landmark shopping, leisure and cultural destination, standing adjacent to the new Battersea Power Station tube station entrance. Housing the purveyor’s first Espresso Bar at this scale, an expertly curated and flexible menu of specialty coffee and rarities will be available, alongside a special tailored bar for one-on-one coffee explorations and bespoke barista creations. To complement, coffee can be paired with a delectable selection of breakfast, bakery and lunch choices, including WatchHouse’s newly launched Festive Menu.

WatchHouse, known for its architecturally designed Houses, pays homage to the legacy of the historic Battersea Power Station with this new opening. Led by interior designer Deidra Hodgson, an industrial-yet-inviting design borrows cues from the Power Station’s design language and famous control rooms. Curved geometric forms define the interior architecture, with futuristic accents of stainless steel finishes and quarry tile flooring, yet balanced by deep green seating and warm, natural timbers for cosy ambience.

WatchHouse Battersea Power Station is the latest opening at the vibrant riverside neighbourhood, which boasts a world-leading selection of retail brands, restaurants, bars and leisure venues. Designed for local residents, workers and visitors to Battersea Power Station, the House features an array of dine-in experiences for every coffee drinking occasion. Visitors can choose from elevated counter seating at the specialty demonstration bar or large, sculpture-like communal tables sitting central at the heart of the House. As visitors move through the House, a modern fibreglass partition gives way to a smaller zone, revealing angular banquettes and private booths, ideal for casual meetups, long brunches and working coffee meetings.

Roland Horne, CEO and Founder of WatchHouse said: “As WatchHouse continues to evolve, each new House must earn its place – not just within the city, but within its story. Battersea Power Station represents an extraordinary chapter in London’s history: a symbol of innovation, reinvention, and ambition. These are values that resonate deeply with our philosophy of Modern Coffee – of challenging the status quo to create something truly considered. Our Battersea House stands proudly at the foot of this iconic landmark, designed as a space of calm amidst energy, and a reflection of the modern craftsmanship and spirit that define WatchHouse.”

Deidra Hodgson, Interior Designer of WatchHouse Battersea Power Station said: “The house was particularly influenced by historic imagery of Battersea Power Station’s historic Control rooms from the 1930s and 1950s, and the building’s evolving design as a symbol of forward and future thinking and invention. There are elements of repetition and materiality in reference to this leading to a slightly futuristic industrial era feel. The room has then been balanced back with natural, enriched greens and textured materials, including fibreglass and quarry tiles adding a post-war design aesthetic to the space. Overall, the space was created to feel grounded and human with an aura of the site’s past.”

Harriett Renny, Leasing Director at Battersea Power Station Development Company, said: “WatchHouse is a fantastic addition to the food and drink offering at Battersea Power Station and we’re delighted to be home to the brand’s first ever Espresso bar, which will take coffee lovers’ experiences to the next level. Located right next to our newly opened tube station entrance on Electric Boulevard, I’m sure the House will be a hugely popular stop for both our retailer and office worker communities, as well as local residents and visitors from further afield, as they head towards the Power Station and wider neighbourhood.”

The opening of WatchHouse Battersea Power Station marks the business’ third opening this year, demonstrating the continued growth of the brand as it reaches 24 Houses worldwide. It concludes a successful year for WatchHouse and follows its recent opening in the United Arab Emirates earlier this month, signifying a continued commitment to building local communities valuing craft and quality.

Coinciding with the launch, WatchHouse reveals its new Festive Menu, a limited-edition offering of seasonal specials for colder days. Pair WatchHouse’s Orange and Tahini Hot Chocolate with a warming Spiced Madeleine or enjoy a Modern Coffee-take on the mince pie, filled with fruit infused with Colombian Gesha cascara and topped with flaked almonds.
