Accor boosts its economic brands in Madrid with three Ibis hotels in 2025

🏨 Accor to open three new hotels in Madrid by 2025: ibis Styles Madrid Airport Valdebebas (260 rooms), ibis Madrid Norte Las Tablas (148 rooms), and ibis Budget Madrid Albasanz (101 rooms), increasing their Madrid portfolio to 28 hotels with 4,114 rooms. Ibis Styles near Madrid-Barajas Airport features a restaurant, rooftop pool, and airport shuttle. Ibis Madrid Norte, in Q3 2025, offers electric vehicle charging. Ibis Budget, end of 2025, is in Julián Camarillo business district. Expansion includes Fairmont La Hacienda Costa del Sol and SLS Barcelona in 2025, and Mercure Ponta Delgada Azores, totaling 96 hotels in Spain.

Spark by Hilton makes its debut in France with three openings in Lyon

🏨 Hilton and Arteloge to launch four new hotels in Lyon, France. Spark by Hilton brand debuts in France with two hotels opening end of 2025 and one in summer 2026. DoubleTree by Hilton Lyon Plage opening in 2028, adding a total of 655 rooms. Spark by Hilton offers a premium economy experience with 102 and 100 rooms at two locations, practical amenities, and collaborative workspaces. DoubleTree will provide 118 rooms, 56 extended-stay accommodations, and signature cookies.

Rosewood enters the Netherlands

HBX Group prepares for a $1 billion IPO

Ruby Hotels expands its “Affordable Luxury” concept to France

Whitbread strengthens its presence in UK Airports and Northern Ireland
