Hyatt Reaches Record Pipeline of 138,000 Rooms, Realigns Brands

🏨 Hyatt Hotels Corporation announces a record pipeline of 138,000 rooms by the end of 2024, with a restructured brand architecture into Luxury, Lifestyle, Inclusive, Classics, and Essentials. The Lifestyle Group, led by Amar Lalvani, increased its pipeline properties by nearly 50% and open hotels by over 20% year-over-year, with notable acquisitions like The Standard and Bunkhouse Hotels. New deals include TOOR Hotel (Q1 2025), Andaz Miami Beach (Q1 2025), and The Standard, Brussels (Q2 2025). Hyatt Studios, a new upper-midscale extended-stay brand, has over 50 executed deals, entering 22 new markets with its first location opening in Q1 2025. Growth continues across all portfolios with numerous expected openings through 2027, including the Luxury, Inclusive, and Classics Portfolios, with the Fairmount Hotel already opened on January 16, 2025.

AAHOA and EEA to Establish Sustainability Standards for the Lodging Industry

The Special Taskforce on Sustainability Standards, influenced by frameworks adopted in 30+ countries and EU directives, will conduct a three-phase consultation from January to December 2025 to develop industry-wide benchmarks and performance metrics, aiming to align with global standards and legal mandates in sustainability.

IHG Hotels & Resorts Grows Its Luxury & Lifestyle Portfolio

🏨 IHG Hotels & Resorts' Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio includes six brands that make up 20% of its global pipeline, a near doubling in five years. More than 900 hotels are open or in development, with over 260 in the Americas. In the region, Six Senses debuted last year and plans openings in 2028 for Telluride and Riverstone Estate. Regent Hotels returned to the Americas with Regent Santa Monica Beach. InterContinental has 226 open and 97 pipeline hotels, with new Americas properties opening in early 2025. CoStar: December 2024 Shows Mixed Performance Results

📰 In December 2024, the U.S. hotel industry saw occupancy rise to 53.2% (up 1.1% from 2023), ADR increase to $156.67 (up 3.3%), and RevPAR grow to $83.30 (up 4.4%). New York City led with 87.9% occupancy, a 1.4% increase. The lowest occupancies were in Minneapolis (46.1%) and Detroit (47.5%). Top 25 Markets outperformed in occupancy and ADR compared to other markets.

Choice Hotels Shares Development Updates From 2024

Hilton Sets New Growth Record, Adds 973 Hotels and Nearly 100,000 Rooms

Lodging Econometrics: Dallas Continues to Lead U.S. Hotel Construction Pipeline

The U.S. sees 1,997 renovation and conversion projects (255,816 rooms) and 459 new project announcements, with Dallas leading in new announcements.
