Poco Diablo Resort Names CoralTree Hospitality as Manager

🏖️ CoralTree Hospitality, led by President Tom Luersen, now manages Poco Diablo Resort in Sedona, Arizona, which offers 137 rooms and over 8,500 square feet of indoor meeting space. The resort, set among red rock formations, includes amenities such as a heated pool, tennis, and pickleball courts, and a spa. Soon to transform and rebrand as Outbound Sedona, it will join the Outbound Hotels collection, which includes Outbound Mammoth in California.

Choice Hotels Introduces New Visual Identities for Three Radisson Hotels Americas Brands

🏨 Choice Hotels International introduced new logos for Radisson brands after acquiring them in 2022. In 2024, Radisson, Radisson Blu, and Radisson Individuals will be repositioned to attract upscale guests and investors. New food and beverage concepts and Scandinavian-inspired designs are set for Radisson Blu, starting in Grenada. The Radisson brand, founded 115 years ago in the U.S., updates its logo referencing original signage. Radisson Blu's minimalist logo reflects its 1960 SAS Hotel heritage in Denmark. Radisson Individuals logo emphasizes boutique characteristics. Signage updates begin with Radisson Hotel El Paso Airport and Radisson Blu Fargo. $15 million renovation is allocated for Radisson Blu Mall of America, and Radisson properties are set to open in Puebla, Playa Caracol, and San Luis Potosí.

A Banner Year: AHLA Advocacy Yields Impactful Results for Hoteliers in 2024

🔔 In 2024, the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) showcased significant advocacy victories at federal and state levels. AHLA challenged the National Labor Relations Board's joint-employer rule, contested the Department of Labor's overtime rule slated for 2025, and lobbied for increased federal employee per diem rates, resulting in an $86 million benefit. Additionally, the AHLA secured authorization for double the H-2B visas for FY 2024 and facilitated the HOTEL ACT to prevent human trafficking. They also expanded global alliances and increased their political program by nearly 40%. Looking ahead to 2025, AHLA aims to extend the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, grow the hotel workforce, and ensure hotel fee transparency.

Access Point Financial Completes Record Year in Hotel Financing

APF's transactions comprised $0.5 billion in bridge and mezzanine loans, and $1.6 billion in SASB hotel originations through HRR/G/H bond classes for CMBS refinancings. APF funded or partnered in financing 110 hotels totaling $2.1 billion. Key deals include a $53 million Marriott portfolio in the Mid-Atlantic, a $44 million Hilton portfolio in Florida, and more. APF is set to continue its growth trajectory into 2025.

CoStar: U.S. Hotel Industry Closes December With Negative Yearly Comparisons

🏨 In the week of December 22-28, 2024, the U.S. hotel industry saw occupancy fall by 4.9% to 47.7%, ADR drop by 1.7% to $160.96, and RevPAR decline by 6.5% to $76.83 year-over-year. Tampa experienced a surge with occupancy up 16.3% and RevPAR increasing by 22.6% to $124.36. Houston had the largest ADR increase of 5.6% reaching $97.82. Conversely, Nashville and Atlanta faced the sharpest RevPAR decreases of 35.6% ($51.68) and 21.7% ($40.05), respectively.
