Marriott adds to Tribute Portfolio with boutique hotel in Georgetown

🏠 The Canal House of Georgetown, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, is opening in Georgetown this month at 1023 31st Street NW. It features 92 guest rooms, 10 suites, 3 terrace rooms, and 2 townhouses, with room sizes from 326 to 846 square feet. Amenities include a library lounge, private courtyard, lobby, C&O Lounge restaurant, and fitness center. The hotel joins Marriott Bonvoy and is part of over 125 Tribute Portfolio hotels across approximately 30 countries. General Manager Mark Namdar emphasizes the hotel's integration with Georgetown's charm and history.

Regent Hotels returns to Indonesia with resort in Canggu

🏖 Regent Hotels & Resorts expands with the Regent Bali Canggu in Indonesia, its first since IHG acquired the brand in 2018. The beachfront resort boasts 150 suites and villas, five dining venues, a spa, nine pools, and a Regent Club. Designed by WATG, featuring interiors by Hirsch Bedner Associates and gardens by John Pettigrew, it integrates Balinese elements into its luxury experience. The Regent Spa & Wellness, set to open later this year, will be the brand's first. The resort aims to provide personalized services and exclusive amenities. Regent plans to add 12 properties in five years, with future locations in Jeddah and Kuala Lumpur.

Field & Stream to open first lodge in Bozeman, Mont.

🏕️ Field & Stream Lodge Co. is set to open its first hotel, Field & Stream Bozeman, in Bozeman, Mont. in May. Located a mile from downtown, the lodge offers proximity to Bridger Bowl, Big Sky Resort, Yellowstone National Park, and three rivers. It features 179 rooms, including Mountain Kings and Bunk Rooms, a 29,000-square-foot outdoor area, an indoor pool, outdoor hot tub, and 3,800 square feet of meeting space. The lodge aims to blend outdoor tradition with modern amenities.

Scandic grows Germany footprint with Berlin hotel

🏨 Scandic Hotels takes over a 214-room hotel in downtown Berlin, set to open in Q3 2026 after renovations, partnering with AXA Investment Managers. This addition will bring Scandic's Berlin room count to 992 over three locations. They already signed with AXA for a Stuttgart hotel in late 2024. The new hotel, close to Kurfürstendamm, will feature modern amenities and be Nordic Swan Ecolabel certified. Scandic will then operate nine hotels with 2,849 rooms across Germany, as part of its 280-hotel network totaling 58,000 rooms.

Crowne Plaza unveils revamped hotels across the U.S.

🏨 By the end of the year, IHG's Crowne Plaza aims to have 70% of its Americas locations updated with the “New Modern” design. Renovations include flexible workspaces, social hubs, and upgraded guest rooms. Key renovations: Crowne Plaza Virginia Beach Town Center's 148 rooms and public areas, Louisville Airport Expo Center's 588 rooms and 50,000 sq ft event space, Seattle – Downtown's 418 rooms and 10,000 sq ft meeting space, Niagara Falls NY – Riverside's 141 rooms, and Orlando – Downtown's 227 rooms and 8,000 sq ft event space. Expansion plans involve adding over 36,000 rooms across nearly 150 hotels, a 35% room count increase, including a 22-story Times Square hotel and properties in Mexico City and Saint John, New Brunswick.

Hyatt sees strong 2025 outlook with net rooms surge, Playa deal

🏨 Hyatt Hotels Corp. acquired Playa Hotels and Resorts in 2025, including $900 million in net debt of cash. In 2024, Hyatt's net rooms grew by 7.8%, with a Q4 RevPAR increase of 5% and a full-year growth of 4.6%. Leisure transient rooms revenue rose by 4% in Q4, and business transient revenue by 10%. Despite this, Hyatt reported a $56 million loss in Q4, but a yearly profit of $1.3 billion. The World of Hyatt loyalty program reached 54 million members, growing by 22% from the previous year. Hyatt's asset-light strategy aims to realize at least $2 billion in proceeds by 2027, maintaining over 90% asset-light earnings. The company also completed acquisitions and a 50% JV with Grupo Piñero. Notable openings included the Park Hyatt London and Grand Hyatt Deer Valley. Hyatt's development pipeline hit approximately 138,000 rooms, a 9% increase, with notable additions like the Venetian Resort Las Vegas. Group room revenues for 2025 are pacing 7% higher than 2024, with strong urban market performance. Hyatt is cautious due to the Lindner Group's insolvency, affecting over 2,000 rooms. Wyndham sees boom in extended stay segment as revenue, expansion soar

🏨 Wyndham Hotels & Resorts ended 2024 with a 4% net-room growth, adding 69,000 new rooms, and reaching a 95.7% global retention rate. In the U.S., Wyndham's Q4 RevPAR increased by 5.3%, boosted by major infrastructure projects. The extended stay market, with brands like Echo Suites and Wyndham Residences, is expected to grow from $21 billion in 2024 to $27 billion by 2028. Internationally, EMEA grew by 5%, Latin America by 11%, Southeast Asia and Pacific Rim by 16%, and China's direct franchising increased by 16%. Wyndham Rewards loyalty program now has 104 million members, with the average household income of guests at $104,000. The company also reported a 36% feePAR premium on domestic openings and a 27% international premium.

Treehouse Hotels to open second location in the U.K. in March

Driftwood Capital expands into luxury hospitality with new DLLUX division

🏡 Driftwood Capital launches Driftwood Lifestyle & Luxury Division (DLLUX) to manage, invest in, and develop luxury hotels. Alinio Azevedo, former CEO of Aspen Hospitality, leads DLLUX. The division oversees 12 properties, with eight owned by Driftwood-sponsored funds. Driftwood plans to deploy over $3 billion in a dedicated investment fund for luxury and branded residences in the U.S. and select international markets. Since 2019, Driftwood has invested over $2 billion in luxury and lifestyle projects, including the Westin Resort & Spa Cocoa Beach, Fla., and Dream Miami. The firm has transacted on over $5 billion in hospitality assets since 2015.

Mint House expands premium residential offerings with Locale acquisition
