Ascend Collection marks global growth and unveils new logo

Key technology tools for owners include ChoiceMAX, choiceEDGE, and choiceADVANTAGE.

Portugal’s tourism landscape in transition: Growth, pressure, and urban shifts

🏖 In 2024, Portugal's tourism sector saw a 4.0% rise in overnight stays, a 5.2% increase in total guests (31.6 million), and an 8.8% boost in tourism revenue. International visitors reached 19.4 million, a 6.3% increase. The first half of 2024 reported a 7.5% year-on-year increase in hotel stays with over 14 million guests. Portuguese airports handled 6.7 million passengers in June alone, a 5.6% year-on-year increase. In 2022, Portugal's GDP grew by 6.8%. The resident population was approximately 10.6 million at the end of 2023, while non-resident tourists numbered 26.5 million in the same year.

Travelodge opens two new hotels in Dartford and Liverpool

ipartment expands to Stuttgart with dual-brand project

🏨 ipartment GmbH is launching a mixed-use building in Stuttgart-Nord, Germany, expected to open in Q3 2027. The development at Heilbronner Straße 324 includes 64 serviced apartments and a B&B Hotel. The seven-story building will feature serviced apartments on the top three floors and the B&B Hotel on the lower four floors. Units range from 22 to 45 square meters and meet GEG 40 energy standards. The location boasts convenient public transport and is close to the B27 highway, Milaneo shopping center, Killesberg Park, and the city library at Mailänder Platz.

Sunday by OYO grows with new UK conversions

🏡 OYO, under Oravel Stays Ltd, has signed lease agreements for six former Mercure hotels in the UK, expanding its upscale Sunday brand. The properties are located in Cardiff, Warwick, Dorking, Staines, Exeter, and Winchester, following the Lansbury Heritage Hotel opening in Canary Wharf in September 2024. The Sunday brand was introduced in 2023. These properties are expected to draw 65,000 international guests annually, with over 30% of bookings from overseas. OYO operates around 200 properties across 65 UK cities and aims to grow the Sunday brand to 25 properties worldwide by spring 2025. The company saw a 15% revenue increase in 2024.

Accor and tristar expand ibis Styles with new hotel in Wörgl

Spark by Hilton expands in Germany with new Wuppertal location

B&B Hotels expands with a new opening in Seville province
