InterContinental Bellevue at the Avenue Opens as Brand’s First in the Pacific Northwest

🏨 InterContinental Hotels & Resorts opened InterContinental Bellevue at the Avenue, a 208-room hotel in the Pacific Northwest. Led by General Manager Haje Roger Thurau with 30 years' experience, the hotel reflects Bellevue's charm and features a design inspired by local nature. It offers a 2,000-square-foot Presidential Suite among its 190 guestrooms and 18 suites. The venue includes a conference center with 12,000 square feet of event space, a 4,250-square-foot grand ballroom, and a 2,275-square-foot junior ballroom. Guests can enjoy experiences such as Woodinville Country Wine Tours and concierge-crafted activities. Culinary offerings include CE LA VI Bellevue, a cocktail bar and bistro, and Fresco for breakfast with Pacific Northwest flavors.

AHLA Releases Statement on Postponed Hearing for NYC Hotel Licensing Bill

🏨 The New York City Council postponed a July 30 hearing on a bill impacting 700 hotels and 265,000 employees. Kevin Carey, Interim President of American Hotel & Lodging Association, acknowledged the postponement after industry opposition. Councilwoman Julie Menin, who introduced the bill on July 18, delayed the hearing on July 28, to consider feedback and consult with stakeholders. The bill proposes stringent staffing rules, disrupts hotel operations, and could force hotel owners to divest.

The Legacy Hotel Breaks Ground in Medina, Ohio

Accor Shares First Half of 2024 Growth Outlook

Americas region recorded 12% RevPAR growth; Brazil leading with strong event calendar impact. Accor's net profit for H1 2024 was €253 million. Full-year 2024 guidance anticipates RevPAR growth of 4-5%, network growth of 3-4%, and EBITDA of €1,095-€1,125 million. Net financial debt stood at €2,934 million as of June 30, 2024. CoStar: U.S. Hotel Industry Reports Higher Weekly Performance

🏨 U.S. hotel industry reported a performance increase for the week of July 14-20, 2023, with occupancy at 73.5% (up 1.0%), ADR at $165.91 (up 2.4%), and RevPAR at $122.02 (up 3.4%). The record highest weekly RevPAR was seen, with Houston leading the surge, showing occupancy at 82.2% (up 29.6%), ADR at $135.65 (up 20.3%), and RevPAR at $111.49 (up 56.0%), attributed to Hurricane Beryl. In contrast, San Francisco's RevPAR dropped by 14.1%, and Seattle's fell by 12.4%.
