With the industry accountable for 1% of food production emissions and 3% of food waste, there's potential for significant environmental impact. Iberostar Hotels is striving for net-zero emissions by 2030, implementing AI waste management and removing single-use plastics.

Amadeus expands business meeting options

Corporate travel market demand continues to grow

✈ Business travel peaked in Q3 2024 with growing demand expected through 2025. Airline capacity is expanding due to this surge. Economy class airfares averaged $507 in 2024, down $16 from 2023, while business class fares rose by about 6%, approximately a $137 increase. Hotel rates in Europe and North America increased to $209 and $267, respectively, while Asia saw a $6 decrease to $166. FCM Consulting forecasts a 2-4% rise in global corporate daily rates for 2025.

Italy bans self-check-in key boxes

Further solid air demand growth in October

✈ IATA reports a 7.1% increase in global air traffic for October 2024 compared to October 2023. Total demand (RPK) rose by 7.1%, and capacity (ASK) grew by 6.1%. The load factor reached 83.9%, marking a 0.8 percentage point increase year-on-year. International demand saw a 9.5% rise, with capacity up 8.6% and load factor at 83.5% (+0.6ppt). Domestic demand surged 3.5%, capacity climbed by 2.0%, and the load factor was 84.5%, up by 1.2 percentage points compared to October 2023.
