🎪 Nikjoo and Fare Inc transformed a former department store in Peckham, South London, constructed in 1897, into the Peckham Palais with a cocktail bar and events space. After being vacant for nearly 15 years, the building now features a 270-capacity cocktail bar and a 470-capacity nightclub. Fare Inc aimed to reflect the 1980s era with vintage details, while Nikjoo ensured modern safety standards. The design preserves historical elements like graffiti on windows and chipped paint.

Notable features include a modular bed system by OpenStructures and a reception counter crafted from old storage racks, aiming for an artist's workshop feel.

This German debut for The Dean brand includes vibrant public spaces like a bakery and restaurant, and an intimate library with locally-sourced design titles. Artworks by local artists, selected by Thom Oosterhof, enhance the eclectic interior.

SODA transforms art deco landmark into contemporary workspace

🌆 SODA designed Nineteen Wells Street office in Fitzrovia, London, commissioned by Great Portland Estates. The office, located in a heritage-listed art deco building from 1929, features a raspberry-red spiral staircase and a two-storey bookcase. The design blends art deco influences with modern elements, creating a welcoming and timeless space. Custom rugs were designed with Floor Story. The lower ground floor features a snug for collaboration, with a moodier palette centered around deep green hues.
