Bjarke Ingels Group Unveils National Juneteenth Museum Design in Fort Worth, Construction Starts This Fall

🎨 At High Line Nine, Manhattan, Crosby Studios and Air Afrique present "Home of Football: Home & Away" featuring over 60 soccer artifacts until July 19th. In Fort Worth, Texas, BIG's 72,000 sq. ft. National Juneteenth Museum will start construction this fall, preserving Juneteenth's history. Caitlin Schanzenbach's Love Island villa mini-replica, costing $250, took over 900 hours. Nominations for "Ones to Watch" in hospitality design close on August 3rd, with honorees celebrated in November.

Grupo Habita Celebrates 26 Years with 16 Hotels in Mexico and Chicago, Emphasizing Unique Architecture and Design

🏨 In 2000, Carlos Couturier and Moisés Micha launched Grupo Habita with 36-room Hotel Habita in Mexico City's Polanco. Initially regarded as chaotic, the city became a modern destination. Today, 16 hotels span Mexico and Chicago, showcasing unique designs. Notable properties include Hotel Condesa DF and solar-powered Terrestre in Puerto Escondido. Grupo Habita maintains individuality by adapting to each property's structure, embracing a community-focused ethos.

Curioso Design Studio, with Nearly 50 Employees, Expands Global Impact with New Hospitality Projects in the Americas

📍 Curioso, a design studio based in Chicago and Mérida, Mexico, was founded in 2013 by Daniel Pierce and Nina Grondin. The firm now employs nearly 50 people. Notable projects include the Fidelity Hotel in Cleveland, a 103-year-old building transformation, and the Atelier Playa Mujeres resort in Cancun, opened in 2020. Future ventures involve Six Senses Grand Bahama and developments in Costa Rica, Mexico, Omaha, and Greenville, with planned openings in 2027 and 2028.

🎤 Pür, located on the Aegean coast of Cunda, Turkey, is a 24,000-square-foot retreat and recording studio designed by SOUR with musicians. Opened in May/June 2026, it includes a 12-room hotel, restaurant, and music production facility. The studio features a 75-piece orchestra room and advanced acoustic engineering. Guests can explore spaces 33 feet underground, with natural light filtering in. It's designed to enhance creativity, aligning the environment with artistic expression.

Virginia Sin Launches Field Lighting Collection Inspired by James Turrell at 2026 International Contemporary Furniture Fair

Her latest collection, Field, shown at the 2026 ICFF, features 120 color and material combinations, inspired by James Turrell's light installations.

🏠 Nora Gharib, an architect from Gharib Studio, began at Snøhetta, analyzing the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in Egypt. Carmen Cárdenas and Nicky Kyrtsis of Studio MaRō launched their studio in 2024, focusing on artisanal projects in Philadelphia. In 2023, Nathan Warkentin founded Warkentin Associates, completing six major projects. Rachael Gowdridge opened her London studio in 2021, designing the Dean Berlin with vibrant hues.
