The Nickel Hotel soft launches in Charleston

🏡 The Nickel Hotel, owned by Method Co., will soft open on 1 May 2025 in downtown Charleston, South Carolina, with an official launch in late spring. This luxury property features 50 rooms and suites, a rooftop bar, lounge, and interior courtyard. Each room is equipped with a full kitchen, smart TV, washer and dryer, and a mini bar; some offer a balcony. Method Co. partnered with Capital Square for the hotel's development, designed by Method Studios and Morris Adjmi Architects. Method Co. also operates The Pinch in Charleston.

Jumeirah expands Dubai portfolio with three developments

🏨 Jumeirah, a luxury brand, plans to open three Dubai developments: Jumeirah Asora Bay (completion in 2029), a hotel/residential complex in La Mer South, and Jumeirah Residences Emirates Towers in the business district. Jumeirah Asora Bay will offer 103 hotel rooms, 20 villas, and 29 residences, while Jumeirah Residences will have 754 units. This expansion is part of Jumeirah’s Mission 2030 to double its portfolio, with a diversified offering including Jumeirah Icons, Privé, Hotels & Resorts, and Residences.

OYO grows Sunday brand with six UK hotels

🏨 OYO is expanding its Sunday brand in the UK, signing leases for six former Mercure hotels in Cardiff, Warwick, Dorking, Staines, Exeter, and Winchester. These will be refurbished and rebranded. The company expects to host approximately 65,000 international guests annually, with over 30% being overseas visitors. This expansion complements OYO’s existing Lansbury Heritage hotel in London and its presence in Asia and the Middle East.

Nirvana Collection opens West Court Retreat in Berkshire

🏠 The Nirvana Collection opened West Court Retreat in Berkshire, within a Grade II-listed 17th-century manor house, featuring 11 suites/deluxe rooms and 38 double/twin rooms. The site, previously a Secret Service training base and Officers’ Mess, now includes a gym, spa treatment rooms, outdoor pool, and The Dining Room and Devil’s Highway Bar among its F&B venues. Guests can use a complimentary shuttle to Nirvana Spa. West Court Retreat is The Nirvana Collection's inaugural hotel.

The Stafford Collection sells Northcote to Silkstone Finance

🏡 UK-based luxury hotel group The Stafford Collection sold their country house hotel and Michelin-starred restaurant, Northcote, to Silkstone Finance. Alf and Clare Ellis of Silkstone Finance, also owners of kitchen manufacturer Ultima, aim to enhance Northcote by introducing a fine-dining restaurant under Michelin-starred chef Lisa Goodwin-Allen and adding a wellness space. The Stafford Collection, led by managing director John McLean, plans to refine The Stafford London, leveraging Michelin-starred chef Michael Caines as a culinary strategist. Further developments for The Stafford Collection will be announced later.
