Dalata Hotel Group to Open 370-Room Maldron Hotel in Kensington by 2029, Expanding London Portfolio to Seven

🏨 Dalata Hotel Group will expand its London portfolio by leasing a new four-star Maldron hotel in Kensington, increasing its sites to seven. The 370-room hotel, adjacent to Olympia London, will open in 2029 pending planning approval. The all-electric building aims for BREEAM Excellent accreditation. Dalata plans to open additional hotels in Dublin, Berlin, and Edinburgh by December 31, 2026. The redeveloped Olympia area expects 12 million annual visitors, with strong transport links.

Africa's Hotel Development Reaches Record 123,846 Rooms; Egypt Leads with Over 45,000 Rooms in Pipeline

🏨 Africa's hotel development pipeline has reached 123,846 rooms across 675 hotels, marking an 18.6% growth. Egypt leads with 45,984 rooms in 185 properties, followed by Morocco with 10,606 rooms. Marriott International tops with 31,782 rooms, with Hilton and Accor trailing. North Africa leads in volume, but East Africa, especially Ethiopia and Kenya, shows strong construction momentum. Despite a forecast of 65,000 rooms by 2027, past trends indicate actual deliveries often fall short.

RealVantage Acquires Heathcote Hotel in Manchester for £14m, Plans Expansion and Renovation by 2026

Corinthia Opens First Italian Hotel in Restored 20th Century Bank Building in Rome’s Piazza del Parlamento

Irish Hotels Federation Elects Matt O’Connor as 41st President, Leading Over 900 Hotels and Guesthouses
