Hospitality jobs account for 53% of post-Budget losses, UKH finds

📈 UK, since October: Hospitality sector faced 88,964 job losses, making up 53% of the UK's total 164,641 job losses. This is over thrice the 50,000 predicted by the OBR due to National Insurance Contribution (NICs) changes. Hospitality job loss rate at 4.1% (1 in 25 roles) is seven times higher than the national average. UKHospitality urges government intervention in the upcoming Budget to alleviate this impact by adjusting NICs, VAT, and business rates.

Hard Days Night Hotel reopens restaurant following £87k revamp

OYO’s Sunday Hotel to double UK estate to 50 sites by end of 2026

Travelodge H1 revenues slide 3.2% to £471.3m amid softer demand

First-half group EBITDA dropped to £47.3m from £82.1m in 2024. Despite challenges, occupancy exceeded 82%, and the Spanish arm's revenue and EBITDA rose by over 30%. Travelodge opened 11 UK hotels in 2025, with nine more expected. Group cash stood at £152.5m.

Palladium backs €90m investment in Ibiza’s luxury tourism

In April, Unexpected Ibiza Hotel launched with 181 rooms and Europe's first Hell’s Kitchen, in collaboration with Gordon Ramsay. June saw the opening of Ibiza Gallery, a 4,800 m² space with 20 boutiques and art exhibits.

Brown’s Hotel appoints new head chef of Charlie’s

Soho House agrees $2.7bn take-private deal led by MCR Hotels

💰 Soho House and Co will go private in a $2.7 billion (£2.1 billion) deal led by MCR Hotels, removing its shares from the New York Stock Exchange. Shareholders will receive $9 (£6.66) per share, an 83% premium. MCR’s Tyler Morse becomes vice chairman. Ron Burkle and others retain majority stakes. The deal, backed by Apollo and Ashton Kutcher among others, is expected to close by the end of 2025, with regulatory approval pending. Soho House saw a 50% EBITDA increase from 2022 to 2024.

Radisson RED opens Oslo hotel with verified net zero status

🏨 Radisson RED Oslo City Centre, launched in central Oslo, Norway, is one of the first two hotels in the world to achieve verified net zero status, certified by TÜV Rheinland. The 118-room hotel, dating back to 1939, is powered by renewable energy and features eco-friendly practices like low-carbon menus and plastic-free amenities. Part of Radisson's goal to reach net zero by 2050, it partners with Klimato and Too Good To Go for sustainability efforts.

Arora acquires QAM office block from Landsec in £245m deal

🏢 Landsec sells Queen Anne’s Mansions in central London to Arora Group for £245m, expected to complete in December 2025. Developed in the 1970s, the fully let lease expires in December 2028. The sale helps Landsec's target of releasing £2bn by 2030. Proceeds, received as a lump sum in 2025, affect EPRA earnings, reducing by £7m in 2026 and £15m in 2027. Landsec's loan-to-value ratio drops by 1.3% to 37.1%. Disposals since March total around £500m.
