Soho House agrees $2.7bn take-private deal led by MCR Hotels

💰 Soho House and Co will go private in a $2.7 billion (£2.1 billion) deal led by MCR Hotels, removing its shares from the New York Stock Exchange. Shareholders will receive $9 (£6.66) per share, an 83% premium. MCR’s Tyler Morse becomes vice chairman. Ron Burkle and others retain majority stakes. The deal, backed by Apollo and Ashton Kutcher among others, is expected to close by the end of 2025, with regulatory approval pending. Soho House saw a 50% EBITDA increase from 2022 to 2024.

Radisson RED opens Oslo hotel with verified net zero status

🏨 Radisson RED Oslo City Centre, launched in central Oslo, Norway, is one of the first two hotels in the world to achieve verified net zero status, certified by TÜV Rheinland. The 118-room hotel, dating back to 1939, is powered by renewable energy and features eco-friendly practices like low-carbon menus and plastic-free amenities. Part of Radisson's goal to reach net zero by 2050, it partners with Klimato and Too Good To Go for sustainability efforts.

Arora acquires QAM office block from Landsec in £245m deal

🏢 Landsec sells Queen Anne’s Mansions in central London to Arora Group for £245m, expected to complete in December 2025. Developed in the 1970s, the fully let lease expires in December 2028. The sale helps Landsec's target of releasing £2bn by 2030. Proceeds, received as a lump sum in 2025, affect EPRA earnings, reducing by £7m in 2026 and £15m in 2027. Landsec's loan-to-value ratio drops by 1.3% to 37.1%. Disposals since March total around £500m.

Hilton Park Lane unveils revamped signature suites

🏨 Hilton Park Lane, Mayfair London completed a major refurbishment of its top-floor suites, totaling 56 redesigned units. The Park Lane suite offers panoramic Hyde Park views and entertainment options. Design themes on the 26th and 27th floors reflect 1960s King’s Road and Hyde Park. The hotel features the Park Corner Brasserie and Revery Bar, and event spaces accommodate up to 1,350 guests. Suites include premium amenities and access to the Executive Lounge with complimentary breakfast.

Marriott Q2 RevPAR rises 1.5% due to strong global markets

🏨 Marriott International reported a 1.5% rise in global RevPAR for Q2 2025, with international markets growing 5.3%. Adjusted EBITDA increased 7% to $1.42 billion, and adjusted net income rose to $728 million. Despite a slight dip in reported net income to $763 million, Marriott added 17,300 net rooms, reaching over 9,600 properties. Their development pipeline hit 590,000 rooms, with 30% from conversions. Base management fees rose nearly 5% to $1.2 billion.

Motel One HY revenues rise 7.5% as European expansion continues

🏨 Motel One has a secured portfolio of 134 hotels with 38,000 rooms, expanding in Paris and Vienna, and entering Portugal by 2025. The Cloud One Lisbon will be its first in Portugal. The Cloud One Hotels, launched in 2022, doubled properties from 3 to 6 in cities like New York and Prague. Motel One operates 55 hotels outside Germany, 40% of its portfolio. Occupancy rose to 69%, with RevPAR at €96 (£82) and EBITDA at €113m (£97m). Founded in 2000, Motel One runs 100 hotels in 13 countries.

Radisson adds Lisbon’s Dom Pedro hotel to Portuguese portfolio

Joining Radisson Individuals strengthens the hotel's market position while maintaining its identity.

Albert Hotel completes 12-room expansion with bank funding

Rocco Forte to open second Milan hotel in November

Located between Via Senato and Via della Spiga, the 71-room hotel accepts reservations by phone and email, with online bookings opening 2 September. Interiors are crafted by Philip Vergeylen, Paolo Moschino, and Lady Olga Polizzi. Amenities include a restaurant, cocktail bar, garden, Irene Forte Spa, fitness center, and salon. Chef Fulvio Pierangelini will oversee dining experiences.

Horwood House makes shortlist for Buckinghamshire business award
