Crerar Hotels appoints new head chef at Thainstone House

🍴 Crerar Hotels appointed Sayan Bandyopadhyay as head chef at Thainstone House in Inverurie, Scotland. The 18th-century hotel introduced a new menu under his leadership. With over 20 years' experience, Bandyopadhyay previously worked at Hilton Aberdeen TECA. Thainstone House features the AA Rosette Green Lady restaurant and recently reopened Stockman’s Bar. The hotel also plans festive events, including Christmas parties and a Hogmanay gala in December.

Park Hyatt River Thames director wins European diversity award

🏨 Park Hyatt London River Thames' HR director, Melissa Brette Ogée, was named Change Maker of the Year at the 2025 European Diversity Awards. Hyatt was the only hospitality brand shortlisted, with its HyPride UK & Ireland initiative as a finalist for LGBTQIA+ Network of the Year. The Park Hyatt London features 203 rooms, art-focused design, and is near central London landmarks. Hyatt reported a $49 million Q3 net loss due to acquisition costs as of November 2025.

Imperial Hotel to open first new property in 30 years in Kyoto

🏨 Imperial Hotel's new property opens in Kyoto’s Gion district on 5 March 2026, the first in three decades. Reservations started on 17 November. Located in Yasaka Kaikan, a 90-year-old cultural property, it offers 55 rooms across three areas. Suite sizes range from premier rooms of 538–764 sq ft to signature suites of 1,022–1,377 sq ft. Facilities include restaurants, a bar, a spa, a pool, and a gym. The hotel joined the Leading Hotels of the World in April 2025.

White Elephant to launch Aspen hotel in February 2026
