Film and TV inspire UK staycation choices, Travelodge survey finds

🗺 More than 60% of people in the UK plan domestic holidays this summer, per Travelodge. Among 25-34-year-olds, nearly 75% have arranged UK breaks, with 58% making it their main holiday. 51% of younger travelers choose destinations influenced by Harry Potter, like Warner Bros Studio Tour, Hertfordshire. A third of 55-64-year-olds prefer Emmerdale's Yorkshire Dales. Coastal breaks are favored by 48%. Cost is a key factor for over a third, alongside convenience and family proximity.

Pennyhill Park appoints Joanne Taylor-Stagg as general manager

The George Hotel in Inveraray saved from administration in £3.05m deal

The Hoxton to launch Il Bambini Club in Shoreditch

Airbnb Q2 revenues surge 13% to $3.1bn

The Chancery Rosewood to launch new culinary line-up in September

A&O H1 revenues surge to €116m despite drop in room occupancy rate

💰 Hostel operator A&O reported a revenue increase from €110m to €116m in H1 2025 despite a drop in room occupancy from 74.8% to 73%. The company, with 43 properties in 30 cities, recorded 3.1 million overnight stays and 1.4 million guests. Domestic travelers accounted for 53.9% of guests. The UK contributed 4.6% of stays, up from 4.1%. A&O expects summer occupancy of up to 90% and six million overnight stays for 2025.

Belfast council approves new Boucher hotel and leisure complex

Connaucht Hospitality to open new five-star hotel on Galway Bay
