Dubai Hotel Occupancy Rebounds from 19.6% to 82.2% Post-Iran War But Declines Again in June

🌎 Four months after the Iran war began, the UAE's hotel sector is still recovering. CoStar data indicates that Dubai hotel occupancy plummeted to 19.6% on March 15 but rose to 82.2% by May 28 during Eid, before stabilizing in June to the high 40s/low 50s%. Over 100 UAE conferences were canceled or postponed. The emirate's tourism authority hasn't released visitor data since January.

Rove Hotels to Double Portfolio in Five Years, Prioritizing Expansion in Saudi Arabia with 6,000 Keys Under Development

Abu Dhabi is also a critical market. Rove aims to address the shortage of mid-tier lifestyle properties in Saudi Arabia.

AlUla Aims for 1 Million Visitors by 2030, Plans to Triple Hotel Capacity Despite Regional Challenges

📈 AlUla attracted 320,000 visitors in 2025, a 15% increase from the previous year, aiming for 1 million by 2030. This goal requires tripling its hotel supply from 1,000 keys across 7 hotels to nearly 3,000. The Hyatt Place opens in October, with an Autograph Collection under construction and Aman Hegra, Six Senses announced. Geopolitical issues have slowed development. Phillip Jones, RCU's tourism chief, shared these insights at the Future Hospitality Summit in Riyadh.

Greater Cairo's pipeline includes 22,111 rooms, 18% of Africa's total. Sharm El Sheikh boasts nine projects averaging 539 rooms. Egypt's hotel occupancy rates: 69.9% in 2025, 61.8% in March.
