Accor’s MGallery to open an all-villa resort in the Maldives

🌴 MGallery Collection is expanding into the Maldives, opening V Villas Maldives at Mirihi by early 2026. Located on Mirihi Island, South Ari Atoll, the resort will be the brand's first in the Maldives. The existing Mirihi Island Resort will undergo renovations led by Studio Gronda, featuring 42 villas. VIE Maldives Pvt Ltd, part of Major Cineplex Group, owns the resort. Access is via a 25-minute seaplane from Malé International Airport. Sustainability and luxury are key focuses.

Rocco Forte to open its second hotel in Puglia

Actabl data show hotel labor costs not abating

🏨 In 2025, despite a 5.9% wage increase, hotel labor costs rose 2% to 11.2%. From January to September, hours per occupied room dropped 13.5% in guest services. Room attendants became 5.5% faster, and guest service reps 12.7% faster. Hotels projected a 14.1% revenue growth but faced increased labor costs. Staffing grew 9% by summer, staying 4% above January levels. Labor efficiency, not cuts, maintained profitability, emphasizing dynamic staffing tied to demand for 2026.

Davidson Hospitality’s lifestyle division assumes management of Hotel Lincoln in Chicago

Tapestry Collection by Hilton to debut in Dammam

The project, featuring design direction from Sonia Ashoor, aims to enhance Dammam’s upscale hospitality landscape.

a&o expands in Europe through Schulz Hotels acquisition

🏨 a&o Hostels acquired Berlin-based Schulz Hotels in a €500-million growth strategy, including the 1,000-bed Schulz Berlin hotel. Schulz founders Nizar Rokbani, Oskar Kan, and Sascha Gechter join a&o's management. Founded in 2000, a&o operates 30,000 beds across Europe, hosting 2.8 million guests in 2024. In H1 2025, they recorded 1.4 million guests and an occupancy rate of 73%. Proprium Capital Partners and StepStone Group sponsored this acquisition. European Hostels Market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 5.8% from 2025 to 2030.

Raines and Vantage Realty Partners acquire Rose Hill Estate in Aiken, S.C.

Hilton pushes LXR brand into Greece

Raffles Residences Bali set to open in 2026

🏡 Accor and Kajima Development Pte Ltd are launching Raffles Residences Bali in Jimbaran, a community of 28 luxury homes on a 5.3-hectare estate. Scheduled to open in Q2 2026, the homes range from 502 square meters with ocean and cliff views. Designed by Kajima and partners, the residences integrate natural terrain and feature infinity pools and sustainable materials. Located 20 minutes from Denpasar Airport, the project is Green Globe Certified and offers full access to Raffles Bali facilities.
