The company seeks investments between $40 million and $500 million, enhancing Winston-Salem’s position as a premier destination.

In Westin Cincinnati buy, Portman pivots to acquisitions

🏨 Portman acquired the Westin Cincinnati, a 456-room hotel in downtown Cincinnati. Situated on Fountain Square, it offers 30,000 sq. ft. of meeting space and amenities including a restaurant, bar, and fitness studio. This is Portman’s first hotel purchase, marking the start of its value-add hospitality strategy. The firm is also the master developer for the city’s $828 million Convention District redevelopment. Portman’s portfolio now includes seven hotels across five markets, managing over $1 billion in assets.

Dusit bets big on France with SYDEL joint venture

Charlestowne goes back to school with two university hotel additions

🏨 Charlestowne Hotels expands to 14 university-affiliated properties by adding Granville Inn in Granville, Ohio, and The Inn at Patrick Square in Clemson, S.C. Graduate Dallas opens at SMU

Accor’s Emblems Collection adds three hotels in Italy

🏨 Accor will expand the Emblems Collection in Italy with three new hotels opening in 2026. Locations include Siena, Umbria, and Apulia. The Siena hotel will feature 38 rooms, the Umbria location 51 keys, and the Apulia site 60 suites. The partnership is with Rome-based AG Group. Lifestyle hotels are skyrocketing across Asia Pacific. JLL has an idea why.

🏨 Lifestyle hotels in Asia Pacific are booming, with a 34% room supply increase projected by 2027. Since 2014, the sector has grown fourfold, adding nearly 65,000 rooms. Southeast Asia has thrice the supply compared to Australia and New Zealand, where growth is fastest. These hotels charge a 10-11% rate premium and generate 30% more revenue per room from food and beverage. Global chains dominate, but local operators are expanding. By 2027, 10 new lifestyle brands will emerge.
