🗺 Marriott International launched its 19th brand in South Asia with The Soaltee Kathmandu, Autograph Collection in Nepal. Opened in 1966, the 285-key hotel spans 12 acres in Kathmandu's Tahachal area, offering Himalayan views. The property combines local design with modern luxury, featuring an outdoor pool, spa, tennis court, fitness center, and 25,000 sq ft of event space. Autograph Collection Hotels boasts over 300 global locations.

Accor heralds its first Emblems Collection property

🏨 Lucknam Park Hotel & Spa in Wiltshire, England, will join Accor's Emblems Collection in late 2025. Emblems was launched in 2021 with aims to reach 60 properties by 2030. The 500-acre estate features 42 rooms, 9 cottages, and Michelin dining. Lucknam Park will be the first under Emblems' Heritage category, emphasizing luxury and unique character. Accor plans 15 Emblems hotels by 2025, including a new mountain retreat in Athens by 2026.

Under Canvas opens Columbia River Gorge location

🏕️ Under Canvas has launched its first Washington location, Under Canvas Columbia River Gorge, on a 120-acre property in the White Salmon River Valley, 15 miles from White Salmon and an hour from Portland. The camp features safari-style tents with amenities like king beds and USB packs. Guests can enjoy yoga, stargazing, and valley views. Activities include hiking, kayaking, and wine tasting. Dining includes café meals and s’mores, while retail offers brands like Aviator Nation and Hydro Flask.

U.S. hotel performance diverges by region, putting onus on investors to be targeted: Colliers

🏨 Between April 2024 and March 2025, U.S. hotels experienced a 2.4% increase in revenue per available room, and average daily rates went up by 1.9%. Occupancy grew by 1.3% in the Northeast and Central regions, with cities like New York, Chicago, and Nashville benefiting from leisure and business travel. The South leads with 51% of rooms under construction. The West sees daily rates 20% above pre-pandemic levels. Consumer travel spending dipped slightly, and lodging dropped 2.5%.

Hyatt announces opening of Secrets Baby Beach in Aruba

🏖 Hyatt Hotels Corp. opened Secrets Baby Beach Aruba, its first Inclusive Collection resort in Aruba, on the southeastern coast near San Nicolas. The adults-only resort features 304 suites with balconies or terraces, four à la carte restaurants, and six bars. Guests enjoy three pools, a 3,200 sq. ft. spa, and 2,569 sq. ft. of meeting space. Nearby attractions include San Nicolas Street Murals and Boca Grandi. Further expansions planned for 2025.

Dusit opens hotel in Chengdu’s AG Park

Driftwood Capital provides refi money for Texas’ largest hotel

💰 Driftwood Capital provided $35 million in mezzanine financing for Sheraton Dallas Hotel. Located at 400 Olive Street, the hotel is Texas' largest with 1,841 rooms and 230,000+ sq ft of meeting space. The $300-million senior loan from Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan Chase replaces a $270-million 2024 CMBS loan. The new loan offers three one-year extensions. The hotel benefits from its City Center District location near transit, with 113 meeting rooms and 1,100 parking spaces.

Shangri-La opens first of its ‘ultra-luxury’ Signatures brand in Hangzhou

Dining options feature The Living Room by Alan Yu and regional cuisine. Located on the former Xiling Hotel site, Shangri-La first opened in Hangzhou in 1984.

Aman Group is developing its lifestyle Janu brand in Turks and Caicos

🏝️ Aman Group is launching Janu Turks and Caicos, their first lifestyle brand in the Americas, currently under construction on the northwest coast of Providenciales. Located within an 18,000-acre nature reserve, the development includes a hotel, residences, culinary concepts, a beach club, and a 164-foot swimming pool. The Spa and Wellness Centre features an IV Lounge, Meditation Studio, and more. It’s the fifth Janu location, following projects in Tokyo, Dubai, Diriyah, and AlUla.
