Located under a mile from McAllen Miller International Airport, the property caters to both business and leisure travelers, boasting amenities like a fitness center, business center, outdoor pool, and pet-friendly rooms with terraces and adjustable beds. McAllen is a key entry for Mexican visitors and a busy US-Mexico border crossing. Owner Hassan Ladha praised Meyer Jabara's team expertise and the value-added services they provide. A renovation is scheduled for early 2026 to upgrade the hotel's public areas, restaurant, and guestrooms.

Outrigger expands in Thailand with resort buy

🏖 Outrigger Hospitality Group acquired Zeavola Resort on Phi Phi Island, Thailand, to rebrand as Outrigger Phi Phi Island Resort after complete renovation, set to reopen October 1, 2025. The resort, featuring 63 suites and villas, will suspend operations for renovations during the shoulder season. It aims to offer local immersion and marine conservation, aligning with Outrigger’s OZONE initiative. This addition joins Outrigger’s Thai properties in Koh Samui, Khao Lak, and Surin Beach (Phuket).

Sonesta extends GHL partnership through 2034

🏡 Sonesta International Hotels Corporation extended its Master Franchise Agreement with GHL Hoteles until 2034, strengthening its expansion in Latin America covering Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Chile, and Argentina. Sonesta's growth in the region began with the Sonesta Hotel El Olivar in Lima in 1998. GHL Hoteles manages 63 hotels across nine countries and currently has 14 Sonesta hotels. Sonesta Hotel Miraflores is set to open in Lima in summer 2025. GHL, supported by Advent International, operates over 7,600 hotel rooms.

Preferred adds 19 new hotels to portfolio

🏠 Preferred Hotels & Resorts added 19 new properties in Q1 2025 from Jan. 1 to March 31 in 12 countries, including urban, resort, and countryside locations in Europe, Asia, North and South America. I Prefer Hotel Rewards members can earn 2,500 bonus points on qualifying stays. Highlights include Andronis Luxury Suites in Santorini, Greece, with 39 suites and villas, reopening in May 2025; Boar's Head Resort in Charlottesville, Va., with a 600-acre estate, and Hotel Convent de la Missio in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, with 27 rooms. Other notable additions cover various collections and locations such as Brazil, Taiwan, Hungary, and Italy.

Jumeirah adds three projects in Dubai under Mission 2030 strategy

🏡 Jumeirah to expand in Dubai under Mission 2030 with three new properties. Jumeirah Asora Bay, opening in 2029, will feature a hotel with 103 rooms, suites, and 20 villas. Jumeirah Residences Asora Bay, in collaboration with Meraas, will have 29 units including a seven-bedroom penthouse and six ocean villas. Jumeirah Residences Emirates Towers will offer 754 residential units from one- to four-bedroom apartments. The developments emphasize sustainable growth, with a focus on suites, villas, and branded residences.

KSL acquires JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa

Four Seasons to open Ajman resort in 2026

🏖 Four Seasons set to open Four Seasons Resort Ajman at Al Zorah in Al Zorah, Ajman in 2026 after an agreement with Al Zorah Development Company. The resort will be a rebrand and upgrade of an existing property, offering 74 rooms and suites, plus 23 villas with private terraces and Arabian Gulf views, 280-foot infinity pool, and various dining options including an all-day restaurant, beachfront grill and bar, and an Italian restaurant. Located a 35-minute drive from Dubai International Airport, the resort is near an 18-hole golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus. This project is Four Seasons' first in Ajman and adds to their UAE portfolio with existing hotels in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Zleep Hotel opens near Frankfurt Airport

Drury begins work on first Nebraska hotel

🏨 Drury Hotels began construction on the first Nebraska property, the Drury Plaza Hotel Lincoln Downtown, located at 920 Q Street, Lincoln, near the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The hotel features a guest market, business and fitness centers, indoor pool and spa, and free Wi-Fi, with bookings starting February 2026. Drury plans to hire around 55 staff members and will extend its presence to 28 states.
