W Austin has opened what it calls the largest hotel suite in the city

🏡 W Austin completed a renovation, now offering the most two-bedroom suites in the city and the largest suite, Penthouse I, at 1,798 sq ft with views of Lady Bird Lake and Austin skyline. Four of the hotel’s 32 premium suites, located on the 16th floor, provide an enhanced stay with upgraded fixtures, concierge service, and city views. The design includes work by Texas-based and international artists, deep green wall tones, hardwood flooring, and music-inspired visual elements, specifically by photographer Scott Newton. The renovation caters to group and long-stay travelers, aligning with current Austin hospitality market expectations.

Mandarin Oriental set to upgrade its Hong Kong and Bangkok locations

Banyan Group opens Garrya resort in Vietnam

Firm behind Trailborn acquires Jackson Hole resort

❄ Castle Peak Holdings acquired Snow King Resort in Jackson Hole, Wyo., joining the Trailborn brand. This is their largest transaction to date. In late 2020, Trailborn partnered with Marriott International for bookings and Marriott Bonvoy points. The portfolio includes 559 rooms across five locations, with more in development. Snow King features eight acres, ski-in/ski-out, meeting spaces, and proximity to national parks. Renovations will upgrade public areas and amenities. Trailborn's current operations are in Wrightsville Beach, N.C.; Williams, Ariz.; Estes Park, Colo.; Highlands, N.C., and soon in Mendocino, Calif.

Kempinski expands partnership with BTG in China; teases new brand

🏨 Kempinski Hotels and BTG Hotels Group continue a partnership over 20 years, strengthening their luxury and lifestyle presence in China with a multi-year investment plan. The collaboration will grow Kempinski’s Chinese heritage hotel portfolio, launch a new lifestyle brand targeting 200 hotels in five years, and expand the NUO and Bristoria brands. Key Co., a joint venture company established in 2001, manages 22 hotels. Kempinski first entered China in 1992 and extended their agreement with BTG Hotels in 2018 for another 50 years. The growth strategy is part of Kempinski's global initiative to regain market leadership and reposition its brand.

Fairmont opens Golden Prague in Old Town

🏦 Fairmont Hotels & Resorts opens Fairmont Golden Prague in Czech Republic's Old Town near Pařížská Boulevard. Architect Karel Filsak designed the original 1970s brutalist building. The hotel offers 320 rooms, suites, serviced residences, and a 15,000-square-foot wellness area with a unique L-shaped pool. Stonebridge adds MC Hotel in Montclair, N.J.

🏡 Stonebridge Companies has acquired the MC Hotel in Montclair, N.J., a member of the Autograph Collection, through a partnership with CSP MC Partners LP. The 159-room, eight-story hotel features a rooftop bar with views of Manhattan, over 3,000 square feet of rooftop space, and more than 8,000 square feet of event space. The MC Hotel is well-situated near the Wellmont Theater, Montclair State University, and the Montclair Art Museum. It also boasts a permanent art collection and is integrated with the local arts scene. Stonebridge's portfolio expansion strengthens its Northeast presence with this urban lifestyle hotel.

Hilton to open a Waldorf Astoria in Turks and Caicos

🏖 Hilton to open Waldorf Astoria Turks and Caicos Dellis Cay in 2028, marking the brand's debut in the Turks and Caicos Islands. The resort and residential development on Dellis Cay will include 175 units—62 hotel guest rooms and suites, plus 113 branded residences, and will be accessible by a 25-minute boat transfer from Providenciales. The residential portion will feature 65 units, including nine six-bedroom ocean villas, eight five-bedroom beachfront villas, and 48 condominium keys. Accor expands luxury portfolio in Portugal with signing of Sofitel Porto

🏦 Accor and Propreal Capital Partners to open Sofitel Porto in 2028, the second Sofitel in Portugal after Lisbon. The hotel, located in Porto's historic center, will occupy a protected building with preserved façade, offering 132 rooms across 11,000 square meters, featuring restaurants, bars, event space, and landscaped areas. Interior designed by Lázaro Rosa-Violán, the hotel aims to blend Portuguese materials with Sofitel’s French heritage. Sofitel Porto marks Accor’s first luxury hotel in Porto, complementing their existing Novotel, Mercure, and ibis brands. Propreal will manage the development, focusing on luxury hospitality and cultural integration.

Meyer Jabara adds Courtyard near Clemson University
