Briefs: Dusit’s wellness retreat in India; Moxy adds second Florida hotel

🏠 Dusit Hotels, part of Dusit International, to open Devarana Sakleshpur, Karnataka – A Dusit Retreat in March 2028, the first Devarana hotel beyond China, with 75 luxury villas (25 with private pools) in India. Moxy, under Marriott International, launches second Florida hotel, Moxy Miami Wynwood, with 120 rooms and a 3,000-square-foot event space. U.S. hotel industry sees occupancy at 60.8% (+1.9%), ADR at $154.99 (+1.2%), and RevPAR at $94.22 (+3.1%); Tampa and New Orleans report significant increases. ME by Meliá opens ME Malta in St. Julian’s, featuring 113 rooms and 27 suites, with a rooftop bar to debut in 2025.

Briefs: Dalata acquires Radisson Dublin hotel; Novotel adds to African portfolio

🏨 Dalata Hotel Group acquired The Radisson Hotel, Dublin Airport for €83 million, with the deal set to close in H1 2025 and rebranding to Clayton hotel. The 4.4-acre property features 229 rooms and reported a 2023 EBITDA of €6.5 million. Novotel opened the Novotel Nairobi Westlands in Kenya, offering 347 rooms and suites, and multiple amenities. Bob W secured its first Stockholm hotel, aiming for a 2025 opening and marking its presence in 17 cities. Sonesta launched Canada's Best Value Inn Kapuskasing in Ontario, adding a 40-key hotel to its Canadian portfolio.

🏨 Omar Romero appointed as Chief Development and Luxury Officer at Minor Hotels, based in Bangkok, to lead global expansion and manage key stakeholder relationships. Amanda Hyndman promoted to COO at Mandarin Oriental, with 18 years at the company, following Christoph Mares' retirement. Claudio Cadeddu joins Sereno Hotels as CCO with over 20 years in luxury hospitality. Lakshmi Moolraj becomes ENVI Lodges' corporate director of sales and marketing, after orchestrating East African luxury lodges' sales and operations. Philip Lawrence Kadoorie to become deputy chairman of The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Ltd. board from January 1, 2025. Ryan Kingston named area managing director for Noble House Hotels & Resorts' three Wyoming hotels. Four Seasons Hotel New York appoints Christopher Shiel as director of marketing for the fall reopening. Brian Smith becomes general manager of Hotel Maverick in Colorado. VERANÓ Hotels + Resorts hires Pierre-Alex Maillard as area general manager for the first of three new luxury lifestyle hotels in Puerto Rico. Monica Eisen appointed as general manager of Four Seasons Hotel Prague, bringing nearly two decades of Four Seasons experience.

Briefs: Hilton signs all-inclusive resort in Mexico; Sofitel’s fourth location in Egypt

🏖 Hilton will open The Sens Cancun Adults Only All-Inclusive Resort, Tapestry by Hilton, in Cancun's hotel zone in 2026 after a complete renovation. It's one of over 10 new Hilton deals in Mexico this year, adding to its 15 all-inclusive Mexican properties. Sofitel's fourth Egyptian hotel, Sofitel Cairo Downtown Nile, will open in January 2025 with 615 rooms and over 2,000 square meters of event space. The U.S. hotel industry saw a year-over-year occupancy increase of 4.5% to 69%, ADR rise of 4.6% to $168.69, and RevPAR growth of 9.3% to $116.32. Tampa occupancy surged by 28.1% due to Hurricane Milton, while New Orleans led in ADR and RevPAR growth, largely due to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. Noble Investment Group acquired Courtyard by Marriott Indianapolis | Fishers and Hyatt House & Hyatt Place Indianapolis | Fishers in the burgeoning Fishers District.

Briefs: InterContinental, 21c Museum Hotels head to Indianapolis; Daxton Hotel joins Curio Collection

🏚 InterContinental Hotels & Resorts to open in Indianapolis this winter, housed in the 1926-built historic Illinois Building after a $110 million restoration, adding a floor to become an 11-story luxury hotel with 170 rooms. Keystone Group developed the site, adding a penthouse suite, two dining concepts, a fitness center, and 5,000 square feet of event space. InterContinental's portfolio spans over 220 hotels with 73,350 rooms in 70 countries. 21c Museum Hotel Indianapolis to open in 2028, managed by Ennismore in partnership with TWG, featuring 156 rooms with original art, three dining venues, and 16,000 square feet of gallery space. Daxton Hotel Birmingham joined Curio Collection by Hilton, opened in 2021, owned by Mark Mitchell, with 151 rooms and over 400 original art pieces. The Boardwalk Hotel on Lake Anna by Kasa opened, offering 34 rooms and sustainability-focused infrastructure upgrades.

Briefs: Langham Hospitality expands in China; Motto by Hilton opens in Bentonville

📌 Langham Hospitality Group (LHG) expanded in China with the second Cordis hotel in Shanghai, part of the Shanghai SeaWorld complex by China Merchants Group. The hotel boasts 274 rooms, a 20-meter pool, and over 1,700 square meters of event space. 🏡 Motto by Hilton launched Motto by Hilton Bentonville Downtown in Arkansas featuring 175 rooms with flexible beds and communal spaces. 🏡 The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe in California unveiled its Residences & Villas Collection offering units with full kitchens and private yards. 🏢 Indian Hotels Co. (IHCL) opened an 83-room hotel in Thimphu, Bhutan, expanding its portfolio to 345 hotels globally.

Briefs: Marriott’s new all-inclusive resort in Mexico; a&o hostel in Belgium

🏖 Marriott International opens its 500th CALA property, The Almare, a Luxury Collection Resort, Isla Mujeres, marking its first luxury all-inclusive in Mexico. The resort is the 62nd luxury hotel in CALA for Marriott and features 109 suites with ocean views and private balconies. a&o Hostels is set to open a&o Antwerpen Centraal in Belgium on November 1, after a €4 million renovation, adding to its 41 hotels across 11 countries. LHC Group, with Elliott Investment Management backing, acquires Roomers Munich Hotel, which will be operated by the Dean Group. Vantage Capital exits PickAlbatros Hotels, after investing $18.4 million in December 2020, which expanded the hotel's portfolio from 10,000 to 14,000 keys.
