Worc Studio centres circular stone table at “reverential” Mexico City restaurant

🍴 Worc Studio transformed a 153-square-metre space in Mexico City's historic Humboldt building into Savvia, emphasizing family traditions and shared dining experiences. Central to the design is a large red stone table, symbolizing connection and community. The ground-floor restaurant features an open facade to integrate city life, with the kitchen on the second floor. Using tactile materials like stone and brass, the design balances historic reverence with modern transformation, creating an intimate yet vibrant atmosphere.

MRDK creates Toronto pizzeria with an upstairs-downstairs atmosphere

🍕 Ménard Dworkind's 2,550-square-foot restaurant in Toronto's Etobicoke opened in April 2025. The eighth North of Brooklyn location features a ground-level takeout counter and the Low Rise bar lounge above. The design incorporates DTILE's molded tiles and walnut tables, seating 40. The bar is clad in a marble mosaic with a zinc top. The intimate space is enhanced by new west-facing windows and mirrors on the east side, creating a cozy atmosphere.

CAAM + Arquitectos references warehouses for vaulted restaurant in Mexico

🍴 In 2024, CAAM + Arquitectos opened Sōko, a Japanese teppanyaki restaurant in Querétaro, Mexico. The design features a vaulted metal roof and brick walls, referencing the area's industrial character. The building's layout includes outdoor gardens, private dining areas, and a teppanyaki bar with rust-colored countertops. Industrial materials like brick and metal are softened by wooden furniture and lighting. Designed for sensory engagement, the space incorporates visual effects using shadows and water reflections.

Ménard Dworkind combines bold yellows with muted tones in Montreal restaurant

🎉 Montreal-based studio Ménard Dworkind designed the interior for Le Red Tiger, a Vietnamese restaurant in Montreal's Shop Angus district, accommodating over 100 guests. The restaurant's second location features a lively spirit reminiscent of its original 2015 establishment in the Village neighbourhood. The design includes blue and white mosaic tile floors with yellow accents, exposed chrome ductwork, vintage touches, an open kitchen, and a community table made from British Columbia fir. The space utilizes multiple types of seating and strong accent colours, characteristic of Ménard Dworkind's restaurant designs.
