Flamant, a European live-fire cocktail bar and bistro, is now open in Plano, Texas

🍽 Walkabout Hospitality Group opened Flamant, a European bistro and cocktail bar, on June 10 at Granite Park, Plano, Texas. It seats 52 indoors and 68 on the patio. This marks the third concept after Rye and Apothecary in Dallas. Flamant features a menu by Tanner Agar and chef Taylor Rause, with items like “faux gras” and a wood-fired wagyu burger. The bar is open until 1 a.m on weekends, showcasing creative cocktails like the Octopus’ Garden.

“Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan is revamping Fort Worth’s iconic Cattlemen’s Steakhouse

🍖 Cattlemen’s Steakhouse, founded in 1947 in Fort Worth's Stockyards, is undergoing renovations under new owner Taylor Sheridan. The updates include over 20,000 square feet of outdoor patio space and a 130-seat, members-only Cattlemen’s Club. Sheridan, owner of Four Sixes Ranch, is keeping the steakhouse open and compensating customers with free dinners during construction. The renovation, expected to finish by summer's end, aims to maintain the core menu and guest experience while introducing new features and exclusive memberships.

🍗 In 2011, Edley’s Bar-B-Que launched in Nashville, now expanding to Chattanooga, Franklin, and Gallatin, Tennessee. They introduced “Nashville-Style BBQ,” featuring a dry rub with 15-20 ingredients like cayenne and a sauce blending traditional barbecue flavors with fermented habanero mash. This new style is available in brisket, pork, ribs, and wings. Edley’s aims to create a unique barbecue identity for Nashville, driven by consumer demand for the city’s signature heat in authentic, slow-smoked barbecue.

Oklahoma hospitality powerhouse, McNellie’s Group, plans openings and expansions in 2025 and beyond

Acclaimed Buenos Aires restaurant Niño Gordo is now open in Miami

🍴 Niño Gordo, ranked #34 in Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants, opened in Buenos Aires in 2017 and debuted in Miami's Wynwood on May 19. The 74-seat Miami outpost features four themed rooms and Dekotora, a hidden sushi and cocktail bar. Co-creators Germán Sitz and Pedro Peña adapt the menu using local ingredients like Key West prawns. Christine Wiseman crafted Asian-inspired cocktails, including the Red Bean Old Fashioned and Neon Skyline. The menu includes katsu sando, hamachi, and Peking-style duck.

Ten50 BBQ opens its second DFW location with a smaller footprint and a hybrid service model

🍖 May 12, 2025, Dallas: Ten50 BBQ launched its second restaurant in the Devonshire neighborhood, downsizing from its original 13,000 to 3,300 sq ft. Cofounder Preston Evans achieved a personal dream, opening on West Lovers Lane. The new location retains classic menu items like USDA Prime brisket and Duroc pork ribs, but adds new sandwiches and salads. Its open kitchen offers a direct-to-table service model. A full bar and hand-crafted design enhance the dining experience. Plans for expansion in Dallas-Fort Worth are underway.

Le Calamar opens in Austin, Texas, with dishes and drinks inspired by France, Texas, and Mexico

San Lorenzo is a new, no-menu Italian restaurant in Miami

Upscale Afro-Caribbean restaurant Lucia opens in Los Angeles

🌼 Lucia opened on May 28 in Los Angeles' Fairfax District, taking over the former Black Star Burger location. Hospitality entrepreneur Sam Jordan launched this 118-seat Caribbean-inspired restaurant. Chef Adrian Forte, a "Top Chef Canada" semifinalist from Jamaica, leads the kitchen. The menu creatively reimagines Caribbean dishes, while the bar offers 15 cocktails and mocktails emphasizing Caribbean rums. The space, designed by Alexis Readinger, captures an island vibe. Beverage director Melina Meza's standout creations include the Okra Martini and Oxtail Old Fashioned.
